I was curious so I looked at the transcript for Amy’s video. Interpret however you will but I didn’t feel she was calling anyone a troll for calculating her prespend. View attachment 5603798View attachment 5603799View attachment 5603800

at around 32min, right before the beginning of the 33:24 time stamp of your first screen shot, she said she's happy to answer more questions about her journey, but not how much she spent, because it's too personal, and some people have already calculated her prespend based on her previous videos, then she says there's a crazy group of people who are very critical/are trolls. I interpreted that to mean she feels that people who persistently ask her to clarify her prespend and are (presumably) frustrated when she refuses, or viewers who feel she spent too much are trolls in her eyes (which is totally fine), where as people who take it upon themselves to estimate her prespend based on her unboxing/haul videos are ok to her.

yep.

I don't think it's wrong of her to feel that way, since everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but the fact that she's so sensitive about questions regarding ratio may be reflective of her own dissatisfaction or insecurity regarding her prespend, which is also totally fine; lots of people are unhappy with their ratio, some more than others.

Interesting. I interpreted that statement as don’t ask me for exactly what I bought as in if I buy what she bought, they’ll offer me a bag. I have had this question asked by friends before, wanting to know exactly what I bought before being offered instead of how much I spent. Different interpretations based on experiences I guess.

But she literally said not to ask her how much she spent Bc she will not answer. She really did not want to disclose her Prespend at all & she didn’t seem happy that there were people trying to calculate it. I mean who else was she calling trolls, it’s when she was discussing her spend topic when she said commenters were jealous & trolling her by trying to guess her ratio etc.
And just Bc someone does share their ratio/prespend and even exact items, it clearly doesn’t mean that it would work for anyone else. Which is why almost everyone who does disclose the details of their “journey” always start with a disclaimer that this was their experience & that it’s different for everyone. I think the vast majority of hermes fans are pretty aware of this fact? So her choosing to hide exactly what she bought in an effort to save others from copying her results would be kind of silly, imho.
Especially since she didn’t seem happy with her experience anyway, so not sure why anyone would want to copy her tbh
Just all my opinion :)

Ok

She made a point to compare her experience with other YouTubers, stating many others could just walk in with little prespend and get offered a quota bag. She further explained how difficult that is in Canada but I remember watching a video last year by Canadian DoubleVanilla who was offered a rare rose sakura Birkin with a 1:1 spend. I get the sense amongst youtubers there's this sense of bragging rights of how little they had to spend in order to get offered a bag, almost as if Hermes deems them more "worthy" than others. I think her frustration with the process was not just financial, but knowing that other youtubers, or her colleagues, and their journeys will be compared and judged. I notice there is overall a lot of subtle shade and judgement between many luxury youtubers. I don't blame her frustrations, but calling others trolls doesn't help the situation.

That's a perspective I haven't thought of before. Are there really people who think that? That if they buy exactly what someone who got an offer bought then they would get an offer as well? The shopping experience at H is so individualized and SA/SM/store/duration dependent that no two client's experiences would be exactly the same, I really hope no one believes that copying someone else's purchases would lead to offers, that's truly setting themselves up for disappointment.

Although at this stage it's really shutting the barn door after the horse has bolted somewhat, she had divulged along the way most of her purchases, so unless there were things she bought that she didn't share, the info is pretty much all out there. Maybe she just didn't want to publicly announce the total, for the sake of her own sanity, which is totally understandable. I was once bored late at night and calculated out how much I had spent at Chanel for the past year, the result kept me up for the rest of the night XD

Amy did an unboxing of 2 Hermes bags with sponsorship with Luxedujour (I hear mixed opinions about them). I turns out she unboxed it to "try it out" as part of LdJ's rental service. Thoughts? Total click bait?

I personally think she spent between $25-$30k in Canadian dollars or just over 2.5:1 ratio. I hear this is the norm in Canadian (Vancouver) market.

With that video title “Double Hermes bag unboxing and what fits holy grail Hermes handbags on my wishlist” and image of her with an ecstatic face and omg verbiage of course it’s clickbait. I personally can’t stand it when YouTubers do this. One, their facial expressions are aaf. Two, are you that desperate for views you have to resort to this?

I've watched DoubleVanilla for several years now--she has a very friendly and outgoing personality and LOVES handbags. She seems like the type of person that could easily make a friendship with any SA. I think your personality and how well you connect with an SA can have a real big impact on how quickly you are offered items, too. There was a video posted several years ago, by DoubleVanilla, where she was in Chanel in Toronto? and randomly ran into Amy--DoubleVanilla was fangirling all over Amy and Amy was in turn very rude and dismissive and kept walking away and refusing to talk to her--DoubleVanilla at the time had minimal subbies compared to Amy. I was turned off Amy quite a lot by how she treated DoubleVanilla in that video.

Yeah I can totally see that from DoubleVanilla, she seems relatable and sincere and not trying to give this illusion of being an elite. Her content is enjoyable and fun. At the end of the day, SAs are just regular ppl and customers that give off this illusion of being an elite will be expected to spend like one and yield a higher ratio. If an SA thinks you can spend more they will squeeze out as much as they can.

Yeah, In general double vanilla seems nice & outgoing, but she was a bit much to take in her most current Paris vlogs. Especially the one where she scored at hermes.
I’ve seen maybe 10 of her videos & never saw the one with Amy being rude to her. Wonder what Amy thinks now that DV is knocking on 100k subs lol
