That's such a good point about it being more common. I hadn't thought of that! You know, I don't think she actually specified hardware color w/ her SA If I remember correctly, she said she put a few neutrals in her wishlist, ie. gold and black, but she left the hardware color open. In one video though, I think she questioned if she would accept a B25 w/ PHW.

Oh interesting! I don't watch many of her videos, just her recent ones about her H journey & it sounded like she's fixated on RGHW for the B25, good to know she's open to other hardware options too Guess it's just the boutique having very limited stock. Someone also mentioned that it took her 18 months to get this bag, I'm curious if the store has already ordered the B25 noir/RGHW for her when she was at around 2:1 spending, but being new to H and her getting 'tips' from her VIP friends telling her she needs to spend more is what contributed to her frustration.

Yeah what I picked up from her was that she was doing a lot of spending & spending hoping that would trigger the offer & speed things along.
I can imagine there’s also a lot of pressure to produce a bag & all that when you’re making your experience public.

She even mentioned she felt bad many of her viewers were getting frustrated, anxious etc on her behalf feeling her own frustration & unhappiness with her “journey” (are we still calling it that lol?)
I’m sure that contributed to her spending. Bc really what else can we do, only real perceived control we have is to 1. Spend 2. Lower expectations on type of offer. Aside from those actionable things we can simply just be patient, but that wasn’t really what she wanted to do (which I totally understand). So she spent & spent. I don’t begrudge her spending at all I do find it odd she’s too ashamed to share her prespend like the many others have who have made their experience public.

Exactly my thought. It almost feel like she's in denial...she doesn't want to talk about the pre-spend amount which led some of her viewers to speculate the total spending, and then she get offended that they came up with an estimate and started calling them trolls I guess she would call us trolls too.

Maybe she has learned after this to not publicize her H journey, just for the sake of her own sanity and probably going to make it much more enjoyable when she's not pressured to get the bag so soon.

I know, right! I couldn’t believe she was calling them trolls. If anything it’s the people who are knowledgeable on the whole H journey & they’re trying to shed some light on her evasiveness & secrecy surrounding the process. Yep you’re right she’s probably refer to us as trolls too for discussing & speculating on her experience/spend etc.

Exactly, I think it would be in her best interest to keep it private going fwd especially given she’s not one to be transparent so really what’s really the point of publicizing it? If/when you get your next bag just do an unboxing instead of dragging the viewers along the journey then proceed to call some of them trolls & ignore their legitimate questions & inquiries.

People literally made accounts on this forum who shopped in her same store just to complain about it. Comparing ratios only serves to make someone feel either better because they spent less or worse because they spent more. Just my opinion on the matter.

People who do that tend to be obsessive over other things in life too, not just their H journey. They would compare who get a promotion first, who get a nicer car, who owns a bigger house. But I also think H's sales tactics tend to bring out the worst in them, we've seen how it played out in real time with POF.

I think there’s a particular focus on Amy’s ratio specifically because she made it a point in her video to say she’s not gonna divulge her numbers. She focused on it, therefore viewers focused on it. If she really wanted that aspect to fly under the radar the way to do it would’ve been to not address the issue at all. Let the questions fly in the comments, most people don’t sift through the comment section.

Outside of YouTubers, I agree it’s best not to be tied up in a specific person’s ratio, that can get very frustrating for sure, but I do think it’s good to have a general idea of the local ratio so that a realistic expectation can be set. i.e. if the local average ratio is 3:1, then it’s best to know that ahead of time so you’re not disappointed when offers don’t come at 1:1.

He also suggested the saddle box as the best home piece to buy and said he uses it as a nightstand, that recommendation alone I know he doesn't know much about H, just another sheep. His bag reviews lack substance too. I much prefer Xiaoma Picks, she has seen and used them all.

I just looked up who GPS is on YT, and realized I had clicked into one of his videos some time ago while doing research on a bag, I don't remember which video, only that most of his video didn't cover his title, and he spent a lot of time speaking, but said almost nothing worthwhile.

Yeah the way he talks is mildly irritating, I would be willing to sit through if he imparted some useful info, unfortunately he didn't. Xiaoma's videos definitely offer a lot more substance, backed by her extensive collection of rare limited edition bags as well as years of experience shopping at H.

haha very true. I had to watch Amy's B25 journey video on 1.75x just to get her up to normal conversational speed.

Oh really, I didn’t know that about the reaction to Cassie’s mini Kelly offer. I must have Totally missed that thread.

And I agree with what Lala stated that people were discussing Amy’s spend Bc she spent a fair amount of time focusing on that & being evasive about it, so people began to speculate, I don’t think that makes them trolls? I think it’s a fair enough question/curiosity for her viewers to have who have invested time in watching her Hermes video(s) especially those who may be on a similar “journey” and are genuinely curious.

lol agree with those who aren’t fans of GPS. I did try to watch 1-2 of his videos & I just couldn’t. His voice paired with his lack of substance & excessive word salad just made my head spin. He’s a hard pass for me.

I’m probably one of the few people who don’t watch YT for bag reviews. If I want that, I just come here. To each their own. I also do watch most people’s videos on 1.75 speed.

Edited to add: I found GPS because I was looking for a review on some St Louis crystal and Hermes cutlery I was interested in. It’s hard to find anything on YT other than QB, popular mini bag and Avalon blanket content for H.
