I've found that Amy rarely ever talks about prices in her videos. But I'm very nosy. So, I've actually tried to estimate how much her pre-spend is. Please don't think I'm crazy lol.
2021: cdc 24, blanket (?$1700), cdc ring ($2155), kelly ring ($2885), 4 of 90X90 scarves ($2K), 140 shawl ($1500), scarf ring ($260), colette loafers ($1325), paris loafers ($1325), royal loafers ($1375), apple watch ($1789), t-shirt ($860), cap ($465), cap ($600), cap ($780), nail polish as gift ($63) = ~$19,082
2022: 2 chypre sandals (2 X ?$790 = ?$1580), cliquetis sweater ($1675), lift sweater ($1450), cropped pants ($1700), t-shirt ($860), fleece jacket ($1100), cocoon base layer ($610), men's polo ($455), apple watch strap ($619), eze sandals ($730), 90X90 scarf ($500), farandole pendant ($1940), 4 sushi plates online = ~$13,219
I'm not counting her cdc 24 or sushi plates, b/c I think she said that fashion jewelry and online purchases don't count. I saw in another Canadian youtuber's video that a B25 costs $11,100. Amy's approx pre-spend might've been $32,201? lol. This is not counting her watch, not counting gifts (like scarves and fashion jewelry) she said she got for other people, not counting things I might've missed lol, and not counting her two non-quota bags.
I'm guessing she spent a bit over 3:1 (I got the impression she got a few scarves as gifts for other people) and a watch to get her B25.
Remember that “prespend” has little to do with actual retail. The spend to get a B25 is way higher than that for a B35 or B40, so ratio is not spend versus price. The ratio is more “spend versus perceived value”.I've found that Amy rarely ever talks about prices in her videos. But I'm very nosy. So, I've actually tried to estimate how much her pre-spend is. No, you haven’t been wrong. This is how “prespend” ratios are used in the H community.wait what?! I always understood the ratio to be amount spent on non QB items prior to offer : cost of QB when bought from the boutique...have I been wrong this whole time![]()

According to Amy, it doesn't in Canada, or at least the boutique she shops at. My SA from the US boutique told me that non-quota bags and SLG like KTG/CTG do count toward pre-spend though. So the $32,201 does not count the non quota bags? So let me great this straight, H does not count non-quota bags as pre-spend but its also an unspoken rule that when you're building your relationship you have to accept whatever they offer?
TY! Agree! I remember her saying that her SA remarked that he thought black bags suited her best. And that he remembered she's into RGHW. So to get that ultimate dream combo, I feel like she'd probably have to spend more than the typical range of 2-3:1, which seems to be about what she spent. Maybe some people estimated 5:1, b/c she didn't disclose how much she spent and we could feel how frustrated and stressed she was. Or maybe some people included her picotin touch (?$4875) and mini della cavalleria ($5900) in their calculations? But even then, I don't think it's 5:1 yet.Awesome detective work there! Yeah I think 5:1 may be overestimated, but I feel like it has to be over 3:1 (expected range) like you said or even close to 4:1 for her to be this frustrated until she finally got an offer. Watching her video kind of make me feel like she's having PTSD from shopping at H
Agreed with @lala_retro, shopping at H (or anywhere in general) should be fun and help to alleviate stress - what happened to retail therapy? If I were her I would've stopped buying all the things I enjoy at 2:1 and just pray to H god![]()
I didn't include her non-quota bags in the amount, b/c she said leathers, ie. bags and SLGs, don't count as pre-spend. She also said that fashion jewelry and online purchases don't count. I think she may have gotten a lot of her info from TPF, b/c I'm Canadian like her and I vaguely recall reading similar things in the Vancouver and Toronto thread. So the $32,201 does not count the non quota bags? So let me great this straight, H does not count non-quota bags as pre-spend but its also an unspoken rule that when you're building your relationship you have to accept whatever they offer?
It's not how it works in any boutique I shop at in the US, UK, or EU. I'd say the 1:1, 2:1, or 3:1 thing is more like an average. Anyone who says prespend is 40% less for a Mini Kelly in Epsom than for a Birkin 35 in Barenia is, well, going to be disappointed, even though those bags are far apart in price. Any more discussion of this should be in the shopping forum's appropriate threadwait what?! I always understood the ratio to be amount spent on non QB items prior to offer : cost of QB when bought from the boutique...have I been wrong this whole time![]()
Agreed. B25 in noir is quite common imo, every boutique order multiple every year for their clients. Had Amy told her SA that she's okay with PHW or GHW instead of RGHW, I think she would've gotten an offer much sooner with less pre-spend. Tbh I don't even know if the higher pre-spend is what helped her with the offer, H production may've just had a delay in making bags in RGHW because of the pandemic. All we know is that she seems to have really stressed herself out during the process.Just to put it into perspective, Amy may have passed on other colours to get her favorite combination. I come from a competitive store and got my Birkin 25 in 7 months in bleu Frida. My spend was approx 1:1 not counting non quota bags and slgs. It wasn’t a compromise for me as I love bright colours.
I watched Fashionably Amy’s video yesterday and almost felt bad. You can tell she did not really enjoy her “journey.” I know she mentioned in one of her other videos that she wants a MK next. Not sure how she will manage the “journey” to her next QB.
That's such a good point about it being more common. I hadn't thought of that! You know, I don't think she actually specified hardware color w/ her SAAgreed.
