One thing about Xiao Ma is that she's very careful and discreet about reselling her bags, wouldn't doubt she has released some of her H offers on the shelves in her Ginza shop, but we'll never find out and never hear it from her. I feel like Mel could've done it in a more discreet way to avoid the conflict with H, but no, the greed has gotten into her that she wanted to leverage her YT presence to quickly offload her H items at close to or above retail price to fund her H addiction.

yeah I think you are right about that, I know Hermes doesn't love it when clients sell off their bags, but won't usually world-wide ban people for occasionally selling off pieces they have outgrown. I feel like there's a qualitative difference between selling off a bag through a consignment/reselling service and selling bags+shoes+jewelry+boxes+ribbons+holiday freebies in a personal online shop.

Honestly I'm a bit irked that POF and so many of her comments say that Hermes is bullying her and has no right to control what clients do with their purchases as they are personal belonging after sale, but Hermes is not stopping her from selling her items, they are not suing her for selling the items she bought, they are merely stating that they will not sell additional items to her, which is well within their rights to do as a business. POF did what she wanted, now Hermes is doing what they want, neither is wrong, both have consequences, I really don't see how it's bullying.

Is Hermes fine with places like the ginza shop? That’s reselling as well so why don’t they mind?
Hermes can’t legally prevent someone or a company from reselling. However, in their terms & conditions of a sale to an individual, the individual signs that they won’t resell the Hermes items purchased. When an individual is then discovered to be reselling, they have technically broken these terms & conditions which Hermes then cites as their reason for no longer being willing to sell that individual any more items. The Ginza Shop (along with any other reselling company: TRR, FP, eBay, etc) never directly bought from Hermes therefor there is no “contract” between them and regardless, they don’t buy future items directly from Hermes either so thus cannot be “blacklisted”.

wow that explanation was really well articulated!

That is great that Hermes is putting a stop to that. But are those terms only in Australia? Because then wouldn’t it be wrong that there’s so many brand new Hermes handbags for sale at extreme markups all over the US? Fashionphile and TRR sell Birkins and Kellys at outrageous prices. What about all of the resellers on eBay selling bags who are clearly buying just to resell? I wish they’d put a stop to that here.

There are also Hermes resellers in Australia. I won't name them here, but I don't understand how they get away with it because a lot of their business is based on reselling new Hermes quota bags at huge markups. Kind of strange that they target Mel but not the bigger resellers seemingly (who have dedicated IG pages and websites)

Also if it’s for just views and subscribers it didn’t really work out as well as she planned. I believe she had about 9k subscribers right before that infamous video. She now has close to 15k - that’s a 50% jump but still considering how long she’s been doing this and comparing to other way more successful Australian YouTubers like Mel in Melbourne and IsabelleStyles, that’s not so great imo. And getting banned from Hermes cannot be good for her channel in the long run. I used to watch her videos occasionally but there is just something about her personality and they way she carries herself…I dunno but the word “severe” comes to mind. After that Hermes drama video I just never watched her again.
for a second I read “Senrev” instead of severe lol.

Just saw POF video. She made a good point though that Hermes created this environment. Blatant lying and then offering bags to customers around you but not you is insulting. Honestly, at this point hermes should just do away with wishlist and loyalty. If They really wanna keep it exclusive they can sell it to VVIPs (like government officials and big CEOs worldwide) and celebs. People wont like that but it will at least kill this craziness for the time being.
POF other videos are helpful and has decent tips.

To be fair, POF did get offered quota bag(s?) (and several non quota bags) in the past while shopping at the boutique. My cousin also shop at the same boutique and she's been telling me how limited the stock has been even before the pandemic. That to me sounds like they've treated POF quite fairly (and almost generous?) and it wasn't until the staff discovered she's been selling H boxes and ribbons on eBay that's when the relationship with the boutique went south. She then started getting letters one after another but instead of correcting her actions because Australia is more strict on the reselling policy, she doubled down on it and tried to play the victim. Also the emails she wrote to her previous SA, I don't know about you, but they read as a shopping list/stocking up for her resell business to me.

I could be totally wrong on this but from my own shopping experience most of the regular clients at H that I've chatted with at the boutiques have been very pleasant and don't come off as demanding/entitled as POF. But it was always the resellers who come in asking for the most expensive CDC bracelet that got loud with the SA and borderline losing their marbles when the SA tell them no bag available. I even had one couple stopped me in front of the boutique trying get me to sell them my quota bag, then left angrily when I told them no as if I've wasted their time.

A video by the real Shakeen was recommended on you tube and I was surprised; she showed the corners of her burning bag all worn away which she claims was from a too small dust bag?
Can that happen? I was pretty surprised by that but idk who she is nor how reliable she is.

Hermes leather is not infallible. Some leathers are better than others.

Hello! Yes, there was some rubbing on one edge of the bag from the dustbag that I noticed shortly after receiving the bag. It hasn’t gotten worse. I’ve taken it into Hermes and emailed their repairs department. They said it was something they can service. I will wait until fall winter to send the bag in since it’s such a pretty summery colour, I’d like to enjoy it this season. Most likely won’t wear this pastel colour when winter hits.

Leathers aren’t indestructible. Especially leathers that have a lighter colour applied on top.

And yes, I’m a real person and I’d think I’m pretty reliable and transparent if I’m putting my face out there in public videos lol

Any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask me!

FashionablyAmy just shared her H journey on acquiring her very first B25. Maybe it's just me, the way she described it sounds super stressful with roughly 5:1 pre-spend :wtf: If she didn't get the B25 I think she might've ended up being bitter & resentful like POF.

She mentioned 2or 3 to one in her video; and yes she said she was so desperate even knowing it was minimum a year (not sure why she was so desperate then if she knew she has to wait).
