I probably would. That's what I did. One SA I spoke with told me about a woman who turned down a Birkin that was offered to her. Somehow, she managed to jump far ahead in the waitlist. But when she turned down the bag, she was taken off the list and now has no hope of ever getting offered a Birkin again from that store.

I'm not sure how proper it was for the SA to share that info with me (I have my reservations about her discretion by spilling the beans like that), but there you go.

Kenzie: OMG thats what I was scared of happening!! I sware that would happen to me, 2 months on the wl and i would get the call!! Yes so no making friends until i have funds!!! =) Thank you for the info!! Lol, i love it when SAs spill the beans!!

Ahh im just itching to get something from the Orange side!!! Wednesday is D-day! My 2 other exam results are out, if it's good i am going down to London on a shopping spree! First stop Hermes!!:girlsigh:I just pray that I have passed them!!

I just stopped by the Hermes store.. I asked the SA to let me know if this certain Kelly were to become available, and he said he would put me in a file but not on the actual 'list' reserved for VIPs. Sigh...

hMm... I'd love to obtain a JPG Shoulder Birkin... in the distant future. However, I need to focus on buying my 1st house... then maybe.. if I could squeeze in a shoulder Birkin.. I sure will! ;) But for now.. I'm living vicariously through the H-gals on tpf...:tender:.. and living w/ a few "H" pieces on a budget~! :yes:

I have a good news! My bag is coming from TX, there is only one left in USA and it's going to be mine:yahoo:I will post pictures here when it arrives.

P-B, Thank you for the kind words. Unfortunately,
I didn't quit the 'good job' to go to school, I resigned
over something stupid - the road to dead end temp jobs
and what-not is what led me to pursue my school dream. :)
You are right about saving for H. It'll be worth it in the long
run. :)

LP, I can't recommend going to school strong enough.
In the Early Childhood Education field many jobs in the
U.S. are going to require entry level people to have their
Associates at the very least.

I know - many friends and family would think I'm downright
crazy for wanting a bag that is so expensive (and it's not
even an Exotic - although raisin Ostrich is tdf!)

In regards to your question - and this is just my
opinion - I don't think I'd establish a relationship
with an SA, if I didn't have the funds available.
Sometimes they call members here on a moments
notice telling them a certain bag is in. I'd rather wait
to have my finances in order.

SA's get a commission, I can see them only wanting to
deal with customers who won't turn down the bags.

oogiewoogie, I'm doing the same thing. I bought the berry twilly in blue and a palladium scarf ring. I am also going to buy the black & white Bolduc/ribbon twilly before I go on vacation. I will post "in action" pics as soon as I get back in a couple of weeks. It's nothing close to what I really want, but I feel happy to have a little H while I wait.

My name is legaldiva, and I am dying to get a black togo Birkin with GHW ... it's my dream bag. I love the understated elegance of the Birkin style, and black with gold is so classy IMHO.

I'm currently abroad in the 3rd world working, so I'm planning my first H purchase (Dogon wallet maybe) as a "congratulations you made it thru a year away" when I come home in June.

I really appreciate this thread, esp since my H purchase will be the result of a long, hard year away from BF and family--it will mean that much more. And I've been dreaming and dropping Birkin hints for months now ... not *hints* for BF to buy, but just to prepare him for when I finally bring her home. LOL

PB, I really do admire your patience. I wish I could truthfully say that I am content with my little H spree from Saturday...as in content enough to ban myself until I am ready for that Lindy!:angel:

KB, I agree with you. I like the Garden Party, but the Petite Ceniture does seem like a step up. It is very cute and I wish the website had a picture of what it looks like with the belt cinched in!:yes:
