valencia, I like your philosophy! I need to try this "there's always something more expensive" thing on DH!!

Kelly_Birkin, yeah he's staring to get it. Last week he compared the craftsmanship of our 5 Series to the craftsmanship of a Birkin and I almost lost consciousness. That's step one in the right direction, right?

Luva Pug, welcome back!

Does anyone have any patience vibes they can send my way?

Now that I finally am working with someone I can call "my" SA, my hopes of getting my wishlist Kellys and Birkin bumped up a teeny tiny notch. But it can still take years, I'm sure. It's been less than a week and I'm already getting antsy as he searches for me.

On the positive side, the wait gives me more time to save money for the big day. I've even purchased Envirosax bags to use as rain protection for them. Yikes, I feel like I'm preparing for a baby or something!

LP, welcome back. :)

P-B, You might get surprised with an orange box on your
birthday, anniversary, or during the holidays. :) Drop
subtle hints.

kenzie, I hope you get dream bags very soon. :)

For those of us who are itching to have a bag,
but have to really save if we want to acquire
Hermes, I thought of a great idea. Usually skincare
and cosmetic companies give away (or sometimes
it's a purchase with purchase) totes or bags when you
buy something.
Being in a school environment, even if I could
afford a H bag tomorrow, I wouldn't bring it
near the place. I needed some facial products
and it came with a free bag that I can use
for a season or two at school and if it
gets mussy or mucky that's okay because
it was free. And I didn't have spend over
$300 on a Bolide-esque Dooney and Bourke,
either. ;)

I hear you, I have bought a cadena in PH & GH in expetation of getting a bag and I like the horse one so much I thought I better get both as I don't know what hardware my bag might have.

Kelly_Birkin, what other purses do you have? I think what you proposed is a great idea is a great idea (esp. for those sitll in school).

kenzie1980 -- sending patience vibes your way. You are in a great position; at least you're on your way -- which is more than some of us can say and at least you can save.

I need patience vibe for sure! I spoke to SA last Monday, I think. He said they don't have the bag I want in their store, but he'll check if other H stores have it, also he said he'll call me on Friday. I waited till 4PM today and called myself. Well, there is a bag(he's not 100% positive though) and he'll get in touch with me on Monday because the weekend coming  I don't get it. All Hermes boutiques opened Sat and Sunday, right? He said that I will pay to the other store because they can not process my payment since I'm not buying from them. It's fine with me, but is it the way it suppose to be or what?
I hate waiting :oh: Last time when I ordered something they didn't have, but I received a phone call from SA on the next afternoon and get my item within two days shipped from NY. I don't understand why it takes so long for him to check other stores!

P-B, and I wish I was one of those younger students instead
of my label of returning student (that's just a code word
for 'old') *LOL* - when I had my good job, (which I resigned
from - but It did lead me to my going back to school and
meeting some wonderful people - that I have no regrets
there) I was on a big Dooney and Bourke kick. I have
a few styles. That's about as designer as I got. Sadly,
they are losing their roots - I'm glad the Alto bags (very
good quality) are still made in Italy. If I learned one thing
from Hermes it is to just say no to mass distribution. :)

And I have a few throwaway bags that I used
for when I had temp jobs at local warehouses
and for bus trips. I'm still using a free cord wallet
(god, it's ugly) that was a gift from Lancome with
a matching mini purse. The purse I won't use, but
even though the wallet is hideous, it works for the time
being. I have to work on buying a working wardrobe first,
then I'll worry about accessories. Sorry for rambling on.
I can't wait for my first BIG orange box!!! :)

lucywife, good luck!

Yes, Lucywife, keep us updated, tomorrow!

KB, I can't wait until my BIG "O" (box, lol), either! I've started with some small things and I am still very excited about them. I have the beginnings of a baby rainbow...*sigh*....now only to get a good home for them!

PB, so ChocoNinja :ninja: wasn't so inconspicuous at the LV meet...I ended up bringing the whole group with me! LOL The more the merrier. I got some goodies and have posted up pics.

Kellly_Birkin, the only thing that matters is that you're following your dreams with school and I wish you all the luck in the world. It takes a strong person to walk away from a good job to go and do something they truly want. In the meantime, I'm sure you have enough Dooney purses for now. So be strong and save for the H!

ChocoNinja, that is way too adorable!! I am sure all the LV ladies were happy to go to the orange side for a little while. I will be sure to check out your stash. And I'm glad you had fun with it.

LUCY: It sounds like you are close to your bag, just keep patient!!

KELLY: You have totally done the right thing of going back to university! I am 20 so a 'regular' student lol, but my bf is 25 this year and he is quitting work and starting uni this coming september.
He's in the construction industry (on the hands on side) and felt he needed something more so he is now embarking on a quantity/ building surveying degree.

It has to be worth it, i know it is hard and will be hard because you are no longer getting a regular income but just think of when you have graduated!!:graucho: Thats all I have to hold on to for another 3 1/2 years lol!!!

I love this thread, i really do. Like none of my friends could even begin to understand my fetish of expensive bags let alone saving ££$$ for one but here i don't feel like i'm doing the 'wrong' thing!

I may even get myself a part time job while im at uni and then hopefully in the summer i could get a place full time. Hopefully that should help my Birkin fund!!

About SA's, do you think think its better to wait until you have funds to get friendly with a SA? Like, i would hate to get friendly and then 6 months down the line etc you get offered your bag but don't have the funds... i would feel horrible turning it down!
I feel like it would be best to wait until you pretty much have the funds and then start a 'relationship'?
