I'm also new to tPF, though I've been drooling over everyone's collections on here for a few weeks. I'm 23, just graduated from university and recently started my first full-time job! My dream bag would be a 28 or 32 Kelly in a jewel-tone, something fairly neutral since this would probably be my only one for quite a while. I figure it will take me about 2 years to save for mine since I have student loans that I want to wipe out completely first, and then set aside savings for either a downpayment on my own place (living with my mom right now) or for a permanent move back to England (which is really my dream).

Sometimes I question whether its worth it, and then I see someone's reveal and get that little giddy Hermes feeling and fall in love all over again

well im 21 yrs old still in school and im apt hunting now so me getting closer to my hermes birkin 35cm black seems very far and near but im waiting patiently so i can purchase me one maybe a miracle will happen and i'll be able to purchase one sooner than i think :)

Hi everyone! I loooove this thread... After drooling over some of the other members' H collections, it's so relieving to know that not everyone can afford Bs and Ks and is working their hardest to get their hands on one! Well I've been dreaming of a 35 togo birkin in lagon or rouge garance for abt 4 months now but DH does not approve of it (even if it's my own money, sadly...) i understand that we do have to consider using the money for more useful needs like investment, a house (now we only have an apartment) or upgrading our car (from a honda to an audi) so for now I have to suffice with my new sanguine all leather fjord garden party with monsieur montres scarf tied on and will sneak in little H things to feed my H addiction until we win a lottery and I can finally get that B! Lol

Can't believe it's already September :woot: I'll be soon visiting H in Paris and hopefully will find my Birkin bag combination on the shelf/back office or they let me order one :amuse: so close getting the bag!!

OMG I am in the EXACT same situation. 23, just graduated uni, living at home still until I find a place when DBF is done uni next april, working full time in the family business but actively searching for a job more in line with what i want to do (marketing/events/business relations), I also figure it will take me about 2 years or more to get a birkin (especially if I get a house that needs renos, that'll set me back a bit time and money wise). I dont question if its worth it, bc its something I love (bags i mean) and I will enjoy and use daily and have forever, its just a matter of when can I afford it without putting myself in debt or on a really tight, unrealistic budget. I dont need to suffer for the bag, bc then I would feel guilty and regret it.

I cant stop looking at 35cm black birkins with PHW !!!!! *sigh* so pretty!

I'm saving for my second Hermes bag and a big (traveling) adventure next summer... I'm hoping that when we end up in Paris, I can pick up my dream bag. I'm saving, saving, saving until I figure out exactly which bag I'm looking for! I've oscillated between the under-the-radar bags (Garden Party) to the not-so-under-the-radar (Kelly Lakis). We'll see what August/September 2012 brings ;)

My name is "joviscot". Dont have a Hermes bag :( but would love a blue kelly bag. Been wanting one for years but due to only having a part-time job just now, i cant even save up. So the elusive bag is further away than ever :(

I just got my dream bag :D And it has 'only' been ten years since I first laid my eyes on it. How time flies! We'll be making an appearance at Hermès at Fashion's Night Out. See you in Paris.

I should also add, I have not necessarily been saving, just found the right item at the right time, and pulled some budgeting strings to be able to buy my beautiful pre-loved bag with a beauty mark  It's more or less the final item in my life's must-have list, and now I feel a kind of serene completeness.
