Rains--I am similar to you. SAHM, turning 39 next month. Only one H bag, that was bought preowned (but fabulous), now debating another. It's difficult b/c we also have a son with autism which takes up a ton of $$$ each year in therapies and medical bills. I think that this forum contains a vast array of people.

I didn't think I would want a birkin, either, but then I saw one IRL and am now debating it. I lead a very casual lifestyle, though, and need a bag that fits with that.

Hi!

I am brand new to the Hermes forum. Recently, for my impending 40th birthday, I acquired a beautiful Kelly SO in blue jean (thank you, DH!). I'm so happy with this bag; enamored, in fact, that I am neglecting all other bags in my collection. I now understand how it feels to be truly in love with a bag (aesthetic, functionality). I would love to own another Hermes (besides the small leather goods that I seem to be compulsively collecting--adore the Ulysse notebooks!).

I'm currently saving for a Kelly wallet . . . will probably take me at least a year, as I'm a teacher (not the highest income), and I have 2 of my own children for whom I'm building a college tuition account.

Love seeing the reveals in this forum! I'm so grateful to be here!

Hi Cate: Welcome to Hermes Forum. This is a very friendly community wherein members share their knowledge base about the highly-cherished brand. Stay put as you trudge along the slippery slope while making new friends and foes(very unlikely:p)

Hi Miyake0214, thank you so much for your kind welcome! I'm so eager to learn more about Hermes in the upcoming months! I'm grateful for your thoughtful words!
At least while you are saving you will have plenty of time to research for your ideal color/leather, etc. :) good luck saving! i have a heck of a time lol. i keep buying small things... i'm trying to save for a nyc trip in 6 weeks (in hopes to scope out some goodies at the consignment stores...maybe my first birkin...maybe...unlikely...) and can't hardly manage saving for that lol.

Love researching--the only consolation for being unable to purchase at this time! Researching=eye candy, galore!

Best of luck to you during your trip! I sooo hope that you stumble upon your dream birkin! If so, please share MANY pics! Have fun!

Hi Miya thanks a lot, you have always been very supportive...

Welcome to the group Cate14, believe me there is a lot of info available and I have been doing my share of reading and getting to know all the different styles, leathers etc. so I know what to anticipate when I look for a bag and try to avoid any unwanted mistakes...

Hi girls,

Its nice to know im not the only one crazy for Hermes Birkins... but yet cant get it... I really wish to own a Birkin 35cm... In fact, i think about it everyday. However, it is impossible to be able to purchase one from the Boutique in my country with the super long waiting list. And, im also not ready to pay the extra money to a reseller... So now, i guess i will just have to continue my daily routine of reading tpf to envy all the other girls on their new additions, as well as stalk ebay on great auctions (hoping that i can find one good enough within my budget). Fortunately i have my Hermes Lindy to enjoy for the time being.

Hi,
I'm new to this forum, I have got quite a few Louis Vuitton bags, and H scarfs, but now want to save up for my first H bag! Probably a birkin 35.
Although I am really struggling to stay true to my dream, not sure if my patience is that great!
Need to know, is it worth carrying on and saving and waiting?:shrugs:

Also a new member here! I have a LV 30 speedy, a LV passy in black epi leather and i have my mums old LV large Noe because she knows how much i love it when the leather goes dark :p

anyway :back2topic: lol ...

My dream hermes team would be a Gold Garden Party all leather as i think its one of the most underrated bags by hermes, a 40cm togo Orange Birkin bag with gold hardware, a Lindy in Chocolate and i guess the creme de le creme of my dream bags would be a 32cm black (noir) croc kelly in either palladium or gold hardware would be fine by me! :hysteric:

Hi:

Newbie to H. I have 7 LV bags but no H bags yet. My initiation in the world of H was marked by a recent purchased of a Chic bracelet and scarf. I passed up the opportunity to purchase an Evelyne III PM in orange so that I can save up for my first Birkin/Kelly/Bolide. Who knows how long that will take and whether I will actually take the plunge. Fingers crossed.
