You know when I first ventured into this forum I was a bit intimidated. I didn't know the difference between a Birkin and a Kelly. But the H forum welcomes everyone with open arms and I have done so much research on here and it has been so beneficial, I am the sort of person that does her research. I wanted to decide which colour, leather, style etc was for me before I dive in. When we bought a plasma TV I researched for a month before I was ready to decide on my purchase.

After participating on this forum for quite a while and enjoying everyone's beautiful bags I now know that a Kelly is the bag for me and I am waiting (somewhat patiently) until that happens.

Hi, Suzie, welcome! I'm so glad you're joining us. I'm waiting for my first H bag, too, a Lindy!

This forum is so supportive:yes:

What kind of specs are you considering for your Kelly?

Kelly_Birkin,
Sometimes I feel intimidated about going into high-end stores as well. Between race and size issues, not to mention that I am a pretty low key dresser, I often get overly sympathetic looks or the brush off. But I always remember something my Daddy told me. “A dollar is a dollar – no matter whose hands it’s in.” I also keep in mind people I see in chic boutiques may be more attractive or better dressed but it doesn’t mean they are any smarter or happier.
On the H note, I admit I was totally intimidated when I visited FSH last month. My experience at the H store in Vegas a few years back was not a positive one. But the FSH SAs were very nice. And one in particular was very friendly – even by American standards. I was up front about only wanting to look a handbags so she had the option to move on if she wanted to. Instead she and I talked quite a while - about the different styles, colors, materials and what worked best for my lifestyle and my color palette. I think she really appreciated that I was interested in the product itself and I respected the H craftsmanship and her knowledge.

BTW, jag, what is a sticky?

Maybe this will help. The first time I went into H (can you believe it was just one month ago?) I was with a good friend who had already been an enthusiast for several years. We didn't buy anything and stayed for about 10 minutes.

To be honest, I wonder how long I would have waited to set foot in H had not my friend been there. I completely understand where you are coming from KB.

Thanks Choco, but I did join this thread early on and my desire is for a 28cm rigide vintage black croc!!

I am so glad this is a sticky.

Also, we must post pics when our wishes come true!!

Suzie, welcome to the board. :)
I hope we all get to do some bag reveal threads soon. :)

jag, Thank you for making this thread a sticky!
YAY. :yahoo:

valencia, That was good advice that your father
gave. I think being afraid to go into any high-end boutique
is that I wonder how nice the SA's really will be. I'll never
be a VIP. But that doesn't mean I don't love the brand and wouldn't
make a few careful purchaes here and there.

CG, I'd love to go with a buddy. :)
