Sus: Thank you, that is exactly what I am going to do, once i have finalised my spec!

Sloofy: There is no need for rudeness. I cannot wait to see your bags then, please share with us!

I'm saving for an ostrich or croc 30 birkin in a vibrant beautiful color. I hope the markets turn around soon, so I can use some stock gains to fund this purchase....I feel like I'm making a wishlist to Santa! I feel like I'm 5 years old again!:upsidedown::upsidedown:

Chances are, I will go through a reseller. It's just my bad luck that I can't form a connection with any of the SAs at my local Hermes. I've never had this much trouble with any other upscale boutiques.

But yes, I NEED to make $$$ to spend $$$.

P-B, good idea - if it's a gift you can't regret the purchase. :)

LP, I'd never ask the SA's if I could have the bag
in the window. Even if I did have the money. But, if that's
the only thing you want - and you don't want the scarves,
jewelry, or other things -then definitely ask.
I just don't like that it's expected. If I had the money,
I'd be buying many H things, but if I only wanted one
bag, that should be OK too. :)

mooks, I never entered a high end boutique in my life.
I'm terrified (in a good way) about visiting H for the
first time. :)

GL, same here!! I could clean out my bank account
and buy an Evelyne, but that wouldn't be smart.
Esp. since a work study job is temporary. Eventually,
they will say, it's time to go and have another student
take your place. (Right now there are two other students
as work studies as well) -- I hope I can get a job
working at the school in an entry level administration
job. Then - maybe I can visit my Alaska. :)

Sus, good idea!! :)

Kelly_Birkin, do you live near any high end boutiques? If you do, go for it! They are not scary at all, in fact they are quite nice. When I was younger and was on allowance I used to go into Bergdorf Goodman, a couple of twenties in hand, and go to the makeup counter. (You can always afford lipstick!) I think you should go in and give yourself practice for your eventual H. visit. At Bergdorf they're so nice, they send you handwritten thank you notes after your purchase. It's so nice. Go for it!

SuLi, I think it's a troll, see other posts.

Forgive my potentially ignorant question, ladies, but what's a "troll"? Is that a cyber term for a persona non grata of sorts?

In any case, it is very refreshing to read the thread and see how everybody is working hard to stay on track with their H dreams.

As I mentioned before, I am currently stashing away money for my beloved Lindy. Interestingly enough, I had every intention of waiting to buy (not only when I had the money but also..) once the new H boutique opened up in San Diego. But in the meantime, I have been satisfying my H sweet tooth with a little H candy, here and there...(Vision, Ulysse, Carmencita) at South Coast Plaza, an hour and a half away.

Just yesterday, I got a hand written card from that same SA who helped me. It is such a sweet gesture and I have already seen her a couple of times, that I may just end up getting my Lindy from her in the future.

Isn't it funny, how things turn out? I defintely would like to purchase from an SA who equally works just as hard to build a relationship.

Make no mistake, however, I am still VERY excited about having a local H store. It is just nice that I think I just may have found *my* SA without actually looking for her.

^^ A troll is someone, usually a newbie, who obviously signs up and posts for the purpose of inciting riots within the particular thread.

Congrats on finding a potential conduit to your dream bag!!

Ah, P-B, I see. Thanks for the explanation.

GrandeLatte, I couldn't help but notice you are in California. Are you in the southern end of the state? If so, I'd recommend the SA I mentioned in my previous post!

P-B, I usually buy my cosmetics online, but I do go
to the counter when necessary. I'm in a lucky position,
that I can go a few hours in either direction and find
a H boutique. I'd love to visit the Wall Street one in
NYC. If I stay in my state - there's one in a high-end
mall.

CG, great story. Your SA sounds very nice. :)
