Can anyone tell me if there is an age limit to sending a bag on a little holiday? I have a pretty ancient Martine with the convertible straps and one of the straps is cracking quite badly. Also although I know the bag to be authentic (belonged to a relative, then my mother and then me) I have no idea what age it is or where to look for the stamp.
Would they also replate a Medor Bijou Fantasie brooch and a belt buckle (don't recall the model but it's an elongated oval with two short straight posts on the rounded parts if that makes sense)?
Does anyone know of who would be the best contact to talk to in the London store (I don't get to go very often and faces change), so any information would be appreciated.

If you go to Bond Street and ask for Claire Marie then she will be able to help you. She is the on site crafts person and very lovely. I took in a vintage bag that was 46 years old and she didn't bat an eyelid when suggesting that Paris would happily replace the handles.
I saw a SA in BH turn down an old Trim yesterday for spa. It was authentic. The owner was pretty livid but the manager (Julie) wasn't in at the time. I'm not sure what the reasoning was, but it sounded like the SA might have been new and actually did not know the bag - wasn't an SA I knew and they do have some clueless types. Don't know what happened as I was out of there quickly but it alarmed me as I have a vintage Martine and that's not the most common bag.
Addt'l note in pricing: last time I got a B35 spa'd there it only cost me $175 (it was in near perfect shape though) but they are quoting $375 now. I think it's to avoid sticker shock, and you may get away paying less - they just don't want you surprised when you pick up your bag. Also with heavily damaged bags they won't quote at all until craftsman gets hold of it. Personally I would still send anything seriously damaged to Dominique. The SF store loves it when LA clients go there as they are very proud of Dominique (deservedly so).
I collected my Birkin today it took nearly 4 months, I paid £297 for cleaning & restitching the sides & front of the bag, she did an amazing job but I was surprised I didn't receive a new dust bag, I read on here somewhere that you get a new dust bag but its not a problem I still have my original one also the hardware wasn't covered with clear stickers & again I read on here that it comes back with the hardware covered but again it's not a problem because I would of removed it...... I'm so happy to finally have my B back !!
Four months sounds like a long time, but I have never taken a bag to the spa. Yet.
Just curious, how old was your B that it needed re-stitching?
It took me a month to get my Ostrich K back and it is only for conditioning. I got a new dustbag and the service last year was $360 before tax. I think I only paid $200 for my box calf Kelly so not sure if Ostrich costs more.
It's a 2003, it was only a couple of stitches that had started to come undone so she recommended restitching the sides & front, the bag itself was in excellent condition but it looks even better now
I asked about the dust bag & they said they don't give them out now, I wonder if its a new policy, I'm in the UK so perhaps it's different here.
