Hermes Silk'in wallet

I went to Hermes Palo Alto (at the Stanford Shopping Center) the day after Christmas hoping to take a look, but was disappointed to find that they don't carry the Silk'In Compact Wallets there at all!!

The next closest store to me is the San Francisco store, but I feel super wary about going to such a touristy area on a weekend (when there are sure to be many people).

I was just at Palo Alto on Saturday and there were 2 compacts on display. I got a Rose confetti one.

All the SA told me when I was there last week was "we don't have those in stock, Hermes doesn't make a lot of SLGs", with no mention that there might be more coming in later, or when would be a better time to stop by, etc.

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to pop back in, but I just hate going in during prime shopping hours. The parking lot gets so congested during the holidays.

In fairness though, I’d been going there since they opened and this is the first time that I saw them there.

I just bought a Silk'in wallet which I love, but I'd like to keep it as pristine as I can while still enjoying it.

Does anyone have any tips on how to keep the inside of the coin section clean and not have dirty coins mess it up? I'm tempted to Scotch Guard that area, but wouldn't want to ruin the silk.

You can try lining the coin section with a piece of folded tissue, that's how I keep the coin stains from transferring to the silk. It won't bulk up the wallet either, so you won't have to spend additional energy trying to zip and unzip it.

I fear, almost all silkin wallets are sold out at moment because of Christmas... my local store doesn’t have it either. im sure they will be available in the new year. Just be a little bit patient^^ perhaps you can ask an SA at your locat store to order, if you are looking for a specific model/color/motif.

I’m considering buying the silk in long wallet. Just wondering how the wear and tear are, and with small bags more on trend now, do you still tend to reach your long wallet now or have switched to more compact wallets?

My advice for wallet longevity is don't overstuff them. I have compact wallets for small bags and long wallets for larger bags. I love love love my silk in. I always get lots of compliments on it.

I have both sizes, used the small for a long time and recently purchased the long one, which I just love. I haven’t needed to switch out, the long one is thin but keeps everything I need in one place including checks, don’t have to fold a thing! It fits in all my bags but I don’t carry tiny purses.

I have had the small compact wallet for a few years and I still love it. Like @mcpro mine is also Rose Confetti with a Della Cavalleria interior. I do carry cash in it, and I don't think the interior looks any more dirty than the exterior. I do avoid coins, though.
