I purchased this vintage scarf based purely on the subject matter and when researching the design, I found two other cw's on HSCI (http://piwigo.hermesscarf.com/picture?/917/search/17294), but not this one. I can't imagine it is a reissue (both the cream and darker blue cw's are listed as 1953) and this appears to be the artist's only design. Any further info about this scarf would be appreciated. I am looking forward to pairing this with my waders!

Is this a pic of your actual scarf? If so, it looks like the 1994 reprint.
And there are more than 3 cws of this scarf.

Good day, i would be endlessly thankful if someone could shed some light on this scarf
It's Bride de Cour, but which year??
Thanks a lot!!

Hello again Seton and Marie Touchet. I would be very grateful to have your thoughts on this scarf. It's a greenish-grey (or greyish-green!) tagless La Clé des Champs and my guess is it is a 1965 issue, going by the writing and lack of the upper copyright as per the reissues. There is a copyright mark in the little spheres above "La Clé des Champs". The artwork is beautiful and immaculate absolutely everywhere except the top left corner (please see last pic) where it looks as if the artist came back to finish it after a little too much crémant during lunch! Hems are plump, hand-rolled and the condition is otherwise excellent ( very, very soft so evidently well loved in the past!).
So, in short, I guess what I am asking is:
Would you agree with the date?
What do you make of that top left corner?? I am a bit perplexed by that!
Thank you very much, as always, for your wisdom.

Hopefully, Marie will have more for you as I dont have the time this week beyond saying that your scarf is NOT from 1965. It might be the 1984 reprint but I dont have a copy of a 1984 scarf to compare with yours anymore.

Thank you seton. I appreciate you taking the time to get back to me. I will keep my fingers crossed that Marietouchet will be able to add her opinion too at some point. I thought that it was only the 1965 scarf that had this version of the copyright, hence my earlier comments. It is great to be able to learn from you guys. Have a good week. [emoji4]

I kinda / sorta dont get into exact dating here, in this public forum. It is a lose-lose situation for a lot of reasons
- Basically, step 1 is determine authenticity which I dont do without a link to an open sale
- You need SUPER good photos and you are probably all sick of hearing my gripes about photography quality
- It is very delicate making disparaging remarks about someone's own scarf ... FEELINGs ...
- There is NEVER just one answer when it comes to Hermes - they have never published a definitive guide AND the info that they have made available has been inexact/ wrong/ incorrect. Like the 63 / 65 grams weight of a scarf - that rule was in H ads like 30 years ago and doesnt work anymore. I may have one opinion about date, and I respect the fact that others may not agree with me, it is complicated and long-winded ...
So, I confine myself here to trying to get the decade of a scarf right - Yeah this is an older scarf - pre 1980s .

Hi Marietouchet and thanks very much for getting back to me. I understand completely. I wasn't querying its authenticity, as the scarf is already mine, as much as that I just don't get that "sloppy corner" and wondered how on earth it had happened during the colouring process!!
As regards the photos, they looked super-sharp on my Samsung and I double-checked before I posted them but this phone tragically has a mind of its own.
As regards my feelings, please don't worry! I would still love this scarf even if you hated it - one man's meat etc. Those wee birds just make me so happy and the cw is perfect (to me at least!! Your "disparaging" comments would be of interest though but perhaps I am too thick-skinned!! [emoji23] ).
Anyway, thank you very much for your kind reply. At least I can whittle it down a bit. There is a really similiar one on HSCI with identical markings, which HSCI has down as a 1965 - but seton says mine isn't so I guess it must be the 70s.
Thanks again. [emoji4]

HSCI is a fantastic resource - kudos to the webmaster ! And , of by the way, y'all need to send in photos ! Hint ! Hint ! I sent in mine ...
I think HSCI gives only the (hopefully accurate) date of the first issue not the date of the exemplar in the photo - eg the Soiree de Gala photos there are all marked 1950 but some are photos of reissues (I know cause some of those are photos of mine...)

I hope it's okay to jump in here, but from my experience, the numbers directly above the barcode, at the right, indicate when the scarf was produced. So 1504 means it was made in April of 2015. With that info, I assumed it was a spring/summer offering. I pulled out my SS2015 scarf booklet, and confirmed it was offered then in 90cm silk twill. Hope that helps!

Yes, you're correct about the year, etoile de mer. I was going to say the same.

Endlessly grateful!! :ty:
i read about original design in re-print it mid 80's but the scarf feels crispy new, absolutely no any signs of use, now you clarified why - it is actually new!!
Thanks a lot! :flowers:
