HSCI is a fantastic resource - kudos to the webmaster ! And , of by the way, y'all need to send in photos ! Hint ! Hint ! I sent in mine ...
I think HSCI gives only the (hopefully accurate) date of the first issue not the date of the exemplar in the photo - eg the Soiree de Gala photos there are all marked 1950 but some are photos of reissues (I know cause some of those are photos of mine...)
Yes, it is. I love looking at the pics on all the Hermès lovers' sites, including seton's ...but it makes me realise all the designs I would love to have! Should I ever get a camera which actually gives me fantastic results I will definitely upload.
Thanks again to both of you for taking the time to reply.

Hello! I'm hoping someone can help me date my Les Sources de la Vie, 140cm, mousseline. I see the 90cm silk twill was released in AW2005, per my scarf booklet from that season. I looked through that booklet, plus booklets from a few seasons after, but don't see this mousseline. Before paging through the rest of my booklets, I thought I'd ask here! And then it also seems not all released mousselines are shown in the booklets. My colorway is white/brown. Any info appreciated! Here are some detail pics:

2006

Rythmes du Monde - a forgotten Toutsy design , a grail when it came out, but few think of it these days
To me the design is classic Hermes - lots of symbolism / story, cool motifs and instantly recognizable as Hermes (dont have to look for the logo) - horses / astrologie / ivy leaf etc Toutsy also reused a lot of the same motifs in her other designs eg cherry blossoms
The motifs are larger than currently fashionable - the squirrel is not tiny, Christine Henry would have made him 4 mm high not 3 in tall - see bottom left hand corner of scarf
The cws were good on this design - a bit on the edgy side and different - eg black , orange cobalt and emerald - that one does not look Halloween - like at all

I'm an absolute Hermes newbie, looking for some information and advice. I'm considering buying a Hermes silk scarf as a gift for my sister. The one I am looking at is in the navy Paradaiza pattern and would really suit her colouring, I think. My questions are:

Which year was this design released? The seller says 1960's but I've seen other sources quote 1998.
Does the age affect the price? How much would you pay for it! (Seller is asking $300).

All help very gratefully received!

Dear Seton,

Could you please help me with the dating of the "Amazone" gavroche? I just got one in brand new condition, still in the original packaging.

Did I understand correctly that they were 3 issues of this gavroche? Were the first ones (from 1974 and 1980) hand-hemmed or machine hemmed? Can I assume that mine is the issue from the 1990? I am not sure if there was one in 1990 but it was featured on the cover Le Monde d'Hermès. My gavroche does have the 90s caretag (folded) and is machine-hemmed.

Thank you so much in advance!

1998 is the correct date. At that time in 1998, a Hermes scarf was US $275. It's up to you decide how much you want to pay. I don't comment on prices.

I disagree on the dates you have. This gavroche is a promotional item and has been reproduced many times; there is no record of just how many times H has issued it which is why I dont specify on my blog.

Thank you so much! So may I just assume that this gavroche was issued somewhere around the early 90s because of the tag and the modern copyright?

I'm researching more Theresa May scarves and wonder if I may ask some more help please with ID.
I think that these 3 are Fantasies Indiennes and Reves D'Escargot and Vue Grande Carosse? Can anyone confirm for me please? I also have some UFO in the next post.

I am not sure what the blue/purple/orange scarf is - Mythes et Metamorphoses maybe? And I don't think the blue and white is Hermes at all? Any help gratefully received. Thank you!
