I don't understand what kind of problems did people have with the italians. What is PO?
I guess PO stands for post-office ??

I haven't bought from Italy yet, but nearly a half of my buyers are Italians (they are my best buyers!) - I NEVER had any problems so far with them, neither with the Italian Post (knock wood...) I see from time to time that some sellers (mostly US) do not ship to Italy and/or Germany - anyone knows why?
(sorry for going off-topic)

Sorry LailaT I don't know her, but if you want I can contact her for you.
you're too sweet, cos. my request probably sounded so silly... "You're in Italy, she's in Italy, do you know her?" !!!
Anyway, ya know I went ahead and bought that mousse from her anyway. It just may be one of my prettiest :graucho:

just following up on my experience with this seller... the item just arrived and it is magnificent/exceeded expectations. seller was super nice. i realize this isn't the discuss sellers thread, but thought someone might do a search on this one if looking at scarves...

not to confuse anyone, i ALSO bought the large mousse from tonina1942 which is on its way.

I am not saying that people have problems with the Italians but rather the Italian Post Office. It was enough of a contrast with scarves bought from France and the UK ebay sellers that I was advised that the delay and red tape was not worth it by fellow H scarf collectors. Just reporting what I heard.

^^LailaT, i have bought from her. views are polarized. I had a great experience with her, good communication etc. Others think she is curt, items not as described. Just ask lots of questions, i suppose is the order of the day!

thank you seton, wantitneedit, and marietouchet for posting re: apolline for me. i have decided not to pursue her arabesques shawl as it seemed too dear at $1175 (not new)

well that's seeing the glass half-full, dear jazzblues. as i understand it, sellers risk their ability to sell on eBay when listing counterfeit ( a different kind of "ban" than the one all us buyers put ourselves on!)
of course i don't know the details of this one so i'm not trying to smear anyone -- in case seller was in fact ignorant of the fact the item wasn't authentic when listing originally.

Smear away if they deserve it!!!! This seller was one of those casual yard-sale, eBay types. She said she bought it on eBay two years ago for $230 and listed it exactly as it was listed when she purchased it. She thought it was real when she bought it, and took it off eBay when notified it was fake. NOTE FOR OTHER NEWBIES LIKE MYSELF: First I did all the things recommended in the forum (look at how long they have been selling, look at their feedback to see if they sold a lot of Hermes, etc.) and then to be safe posted it on the forum. Seton came back almost instantly with a confirmation that it was fake. I am of the conclusion the seller was ignorant, not willful. And I am very appreciative of this forum and the members. A wonderful community. And now...because I am totally ignorant on cashmere scarves, I'm posting another question separately because it looks bad to me!:sunshine:

Here's one that reeks fake, currently on eBay:

Item title: Genuine Hermes Cashmere Scrave (sic)
Seller: radhamom
Item number: 290274674398
link: http://cgi.ebay.com/Genuine-Hermes-...286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66:4|65:10|39:1|240:1318

Very bad photos, two labels - one says Hermes Paris, the other something about Nepal (hard to read)

I am just learning about Hermes silks (can't afford the cashmeres so haven't gotten into them...sigh) but even to a newbie like me this one looks very bad. Am I right? Thx

I am not an expert but asked and this is not a fake although it may be in poor condition. Hermes did have shawls made in Nepal.
