Scarves Hermès scarf colors

I apologize for my misnaming the color of my La Femme shawl. It is anoisette/Absinthe, a green that seems to pop up a lot in H silks.

The Samourais labels are here for reference. I thought these two were the most interesting colorways even though I had to regretfully return the beautiful green due to some weaving quality issues. And by the time I tried to get a replacement Awooo came along so I opted for that format instead.

It’s hard to track silk colors unless you keep tge control tags and some boutiques internationally don’t let you buy a silk with it on! But I am a stickler for always asking for mine whenever I buy from boutique just because I like knowing their names.

Love it! Not crazy about the floor but everything is wonderful! A scarf design?:graucho:

Thanks @Julide for these helpful links! A couple I couldn't see because they require a subscription, but the others are great. The last for G edition is really interesting by itself! Looking forward to more posts from you :drinks:
I’m so glad to add here!:flowers:All these articles have me wanting to line up several years in similar colours next to each other to see the differences. :thinkin:I wonder if I possess enough scarves to do this....I may look into this further...:p

There is a "cheat" of mine, using the primary colors as a base. Whenever I had a particularly difficult art director, I would do the art using these colors:

Pleased the most demanding beast! I called it my Sun/Earth/Water colorway. I think it resonates with us humans because of those associations.

Interesting, that when you do a google search on just the color name, one gets all sorts of images...probably why Pantone has become such a useful standard.
Here is "bleu noir":

Vert sapin:

and Bleu Roi:

Of course it is so dependent on texture (another reason for Pantone coated and uncoated...
and probably why we like the "changeant" scarves so much.
For comparison, here is the blackest black known to man, Vantablack. Do a search on it for lots of interesting information. Astonishingly, this picture shows a statue as we see it and another version coated with Vantablack:
and, yes that is a REAL picture.

My understanding is this Vantablack is a new think and proprietary. Reminds me a little though of that Amish Kapoor piece with the egg shape and so very black opening you can’t see anything in it. I think the piece is in Dallas.

Great thread, will try to add in some observations too soon.
