Sharing these two pieces that I bought yesterday! First is the Mosaique Prairie Dress (H4H0502DBDK34) that I didn’t want to try on because the model photo didn’t look that appealing, but my SA suggested it and I was pleasantly surprised! Then I bought this sporty, casual Short Polo Dress (H5H0544DV0240) which was on my try on list. I’m on a bit of a weight loss journey so I feel both of these pieces are great for any potential weight fluctuations!

It’s almost a philosophical question for H RTW aficionados: how much etoupe does one actually need lol

I do think the finesse and mosaique patterns are entirely different and if you ended up buying both bc you wear etoupe a lot, then it would save wear on both. (they would last longer bc you could alternate). Also, IMO, the finesse is more casual (possible to wear with denim) and the mosaique a bit more dressy bc of the style and the tone on tone shiny/matte). However , thats definitely a more-ish philosophy.

If you said instead, pls give me reasons why these are duplicative and I don’t need both, we could easily construct the other argument…. Like, girl, they are the same color 😂
🤣🤣I love this philosophy and I was going to pose the question of rather than “either/or”, perhaps the simplest is an “and”…

Sometimes I like a monochrome black H goth chic and the subtle mosaic pattern give a bit of a visual interest whereas the etoupe shows that beautiful almost shimmering detail…so “and” it is hah
Well, be it a philosophical question, etoupe & noir almost go into the same level of need.
Like etoupe with white & neutrals in the summer, noir with etoupe in the winter & etoupe with
etoupe & other neutral shades almost all year around.
Whatever strikes ones fancy as in all likelihood we will never wear out our collections of H clothing, JMO
@Love Of My Life thank you for unknowingly supporting my proposed solution 😂.
Love the vest on you @Gin&H and agree that H pockets often put form before function...I have a cream jacket from a few years ago with leather patch pockets that are so high on my chest that it's impossible to put my hands in them

I also like the twinset on you.
Thank you @tinkerbell68 ! I’m joining the club and drinking the H Koolaid and putting form over function too 😂. The twin set was very tempting but I had to exercise some self restraint…especially with the price increase
I love both shirts! The mosaique shirt comes in other colors. Last season a light grey color with a little blue tone was very pretty. Maybe consider another color? Could you share what size of the mosaique shirt fits you? Thanks!!
Thank you @Suesue99 ! The grey and green version that @Angiebbb has are beautiful. I’ll have to keep an eye out for new color ways. I saw one of the SAs wear the grey mosaique pants and noir top - it was genius - the grey pants almost looked like light blue jeans. The fit is meant to be oversized. I initially tried the 36 in noir (my finesse shirt was also a 36). I had lost some weight and had felt the 36 was too oversized to be able to tuck into pants or a skirt without it bunching too much. But if you lean into the oversized look, I think it looks chic untucked. My SA thought the 36 looked best untucked but knew I also wanted to have the option of tucked. I tried on the etoupe in a 34 and felt it was a good middle ground. IMG_6297.webpIMG_6298.webpIMG_6300.webp

Thanks for showing us your other possibilities! Given everything you’ve shared, I think your DH (and @SilkCouture ) are right re the RL as being more flexible and easier to wear But, I also think it makes a lot of sense to wait on this decision! Congrats on your happy family news :D

DH persuaded me to revisit the H tuxedo jacket when I went to pick up my men’s pants (I’m a Hermes size 38 men’s pants (relaxed, looser fit); 36-38 women’s pants) .

Everyone loved the smoking jacket on me after the tailor fully pinned the length so I purchased. (My SA said the gorge could not be higher due to the female chest lol). I do think it looks amazing in the original length on others; I just have a complete mental block and a hard time styling long jackets on me.

*ETA: I bought this smoking jacket specifically to wear with jeans and a tank top. IMO if one is contemplating this particular purchase, this one fills a special niche, not an all purpose one, in one’s dark jacket wardrobe.

If one does decide to discuss shortening this jacket with a tailor, they weigh certain factors as they relate to your individual body 1. Keeping the line and style intact; not hindering the pocket; and, what to do with the back center vent. So alteration depends on individual case by case. The men’s pants also required slimming down the leg and butt and shortening the length.

I love the juxtaposition of the jacket with the more casual utilitarian pants!! Was there a charge for the pants alteration since it was more than shortening the length?

My trip today…ended up picking up the cropped cashmere vest. Pockets are funny since you can’t put your hands in them unless you’re crossing your arms  But the fit was amazing so I’m going to accept it and just stick my hands into my pant pockets.

Waiting for the mosaique ascot shirt in noir to come in but this was actually one that I wanted last year when I first started shopping so I’m excited to finally get it! I need to get the magical matching pants I’ve seen on others lol.

Cropped embroidered jacket was cute and had such nice detailing but wasn’t sure how much cost per wear I’d get from it. Also had a cream one which was super pretty but I can’t handle another fantasy light colored jacket in my wardrobe lol.

I loved the twinset especially the cropped jacket but felt the waist on the outer long vest hit me a little lower than I liked…not quite made for a 5’2” person. View attachment 6184364View attachment 6184365

Everything looks great ! May I ask where you are located? I love the mosaic silks — I have the dress - the same one you have in the shirt and a grey set but would love black ! Wondering if they are doing it again this season ?!

I love these kinds of arguments where one can manipulate data to yield best argument! I use this type of reasoning w my husband which makes him insane !!

Thank you @Chrismin ! I’m in the US (PNW). It seems they’re doing the black, etoupe and rose framboise this season!

@Chrismin , @880 and other mosaic silk shirt owners - do you dry clean or hand wash these pieces? I just hand washed the finesse silk shirt and it seemed to work out well (I haven’t ironed it yet 😂) but that finesse silk shirt is the more matte jacquard silk. The mosaic silks have a beautiful sheen and was wondering how to care for it.

Congrats on the finesse! I’m not handy, so I take it to the dry cleaner :)
