Yes, I understand how it works, she just never offered it to me as an option. More than once she has told me that they do not know what will be coming in and we will just have to wait and see what shows up on the sales floor. I do not have to have the sweater and if I do, it even pops up on line. I cannot imagine switching to another SA at this store. It is fairly small so it will be too awkward for everyone. Plus the SM does not appear to be supporting the move. I appreciate the words of wisdom @acrowcounted . I think I am just venting at this point

To be clear: if you want to shop in this location when your SA is on vacation, simply start shopping with another SA and then decide if the new one is worth your effort. The store does not care which SA you shop with so long as you stay with the store.

an SA or the RTW manager can tell you that our store ordered 5 of this item, and give you how many per size (unless it’s something so common that there are lots (there is a booklet with a zerox page if I recall correctly and it lists the number of sizes. She can say, I’m slapping your name on one of them. Or I’m putting you on a list.

She should also be able to say to you, “hey, there will be enough of these coming in, no worries,” or item Y will go quickly, and I know it’s exactly your kind of thing.
