I finally found this thread again!! Couldn't remember the name of this thread.

Tamarind, here is my Rouge H jumping boots!! I tried on a pair back in November after a long search, in my normal size, it was too tight around the calves!! Was soooo disappointed and so was my sweet SA who found them for me. Anyway, back to square one until I saw them in Nice two weekends ago!!
Can't stop staring and wearing it! :D

Any ideas on how to break into the boots? Mine fit alright around the calves but I find the ankle area so rigid that it's hard to walk (especially up or down some steps or stairs). My heels kinda slide up and down as well when I walk, but I don't think it's "loose" (as in I need half a size down). Please help?

Your explanation seems to match my experience. I suggest you wear socks thick enough to protect your ankles for as many wearings as needed to break them in. Even though the leather will remain pretty stiff, unless you are super sensitive, you will get used to them! BTW, I’ve only worn mine about 6-8 times so far. I didn’t have the option to go down half a size (I bought the last pair of SO black in my boutique), so my feet do slosh around a bit, but again, cashmere socks help that! Don’t they look so fab on?!! Enjoy them!!!

I very much struggled with this. I'd say it took me a good 2 seasons to wear them in. I just took them on a weekend in Vienna and they were fine so I think I've won! I went to a good cobbler and they gave me a leather softening spray: I used this on the inside heel each time I wore them.

Beautiful boots! So glad you got yours. I have been wearing mine a lot this year (the fourth year) and they really get better and more comfortable each year.

Thank you Tamarind. That's good to know although they are quite comfortable to wear already, it just takes me a while to take them off!! :smile1:

Stunning colour and they look fab on you!!! Now I really don't know which colour to buy first..

thank you MaggyH!! :smile1::smile1: rouge H is a few seasons ago so not easy to find, unless H does it again this FW season. what other colour are you thinking of getting?

I was debating whether to get black or ebene, I have tried the etoupe ones on, but somehow they didn't look right on me. I will have to ask my SA to enquire about RH availability first since they are so hard to get! Really love them on you, you lucky girl!

I didn't really like the Etoupe on me either although the leather is a lot softer! And I already have other boots in black and brown. I think the smaller European cities will definitely have one or two pairs of Rouge H left, I saw them in Florence and Milan in Sept last year but they were the bigger sizes 40/41. Hope you find them. Rouge H a a fabulous colour!! and thanks again MaggyH! :hugs:
