I've heard that after a procedure somewhere else, Hermès will never touch the bag again. So basically, buying the bag after the repairs would mean never having the possibility to use the official spa

Hermes doesn’t want to be on the hook for anything done by a third party. Once another party touches the bag, anything that goes wrong could be held as a liability against future Hermes work. It’s just not worth it to them and they also want to discourage avoiding their services too.
Agree with @acrowcounted. While I have had my heritage leather bags treated; color corrected and spa-ed by a third party professional, none of them have ever been rejected subsequently by H Spa. But, it seems like my experience is NOT the norm, and to be safe, if you want to have H Spa, it’s best NOT to have any outside work.

Given your concerns, I would not purchase this bag. (Any bags I purchased that needed third party color correction (suntanning discoloration of the entire back panel) or other non structural, but serious cosmetic issues, were offered at an extreme discount during COVID SIP
was wondering if anyone has brought in a wallet to be "spaed"? And what your experience was?
Yes. My BBL longue wallet. I thought it should just have hw replaced bc it was basically in great condition, and spa recommended a total renovation. It came back looking very nice, but not so far from the original, which is why some of us use both H and third party spa.

Even so, I’m in the habit of accepting a professional spa recommendation, so the process took A LOT longer. If you send yours in, be prepared to forget about it bc the wait can be lengthy. If you are happily surprised at a shorter turnaround, then that’s fabulous too.

ETA: Spa professionals will also tell you if they think that you should hold off and wait a bit longer for service. For hardware replacement, the HW comes back brand new with stickers (to
Me, stickers are simply a complete PITA, but it’s important to some people

@LeahLVoes , I think it took over a year. But I send a lot to H Spa (once I sent in two Kelly bags and they FORGOT to work on one of them— and this is after maybe 15 months of waiting). It took
them maybe three days to correct this error lol. They will give you an estimate re cost and time, but don’t be surprised if it takes longer. Just my experience though

Thanks for your feedback!! <3
To be honest, I can see myself going for the full renovation too. The wallet is a Bifold Bearn in swift wich is so pretty and lovely to the touch but the corners and the hardware absolutely look its age, therefore it is likely that they'd suggest an overhaul as well. How long did it take in the end?

Hi again all! Even though I stepped away from the green Birkin whose broken corners I asked about here in post #3,583 ☝️, I was curious how the repairs turned out, made by a third party and I’d thought I’d share the results here in case anyone else wants to see 👇 Probably made with filler.. I'm not buying the bag, but not the worst job I'd think, considering how bad the damage was.

It looks fine, how it holds up is another question entirely...I do hope they disclose the repairs and how it was before to potential buyers and price it accordingly.

Hey y'all!

My beautiful Bearn bifold, could need a little bit of TLC. I bought it 11 years ago and I think it might even was my first ever Hermes purchase. So naturally I have used it quite a bit, while I find that it has held up really nicely, like no loose threads or anything like that, the hardware does look very tarnished, and due to its light color it just doesn't look too pretty anymore...

I've sent my Silk-in wallets to be spa-ed.. two of them because the silk pull tab was fraying (they replaced it with a leather pull tab) and another because it was sooooo dirty and the epsom grains had more or less flattened out. The pull tabs were replaced easily, but the dirty leather was too far gone and there is no way the grains could be put back... so we finally decided it was time to retire that wallet and get a new one :)

Currently considering a 2005 Kelly 32 in Orange with Clemence leather. It's overall in outstanding condition, but the corners show light wear. Any experience on having the spa repair corner wear? (see attached photos) Any and all advice is appreciated! (Color looks off due to lighting, thank you!!!)

I recommend you check out the spa thread. In my experience what you've posted is easily fixed and will come back looking new.

No need to apologise! I don't have any photos for you but I had a clemence birkin with almost the same extent of wear as you showed and it came back perfect.

All the best! You may already be aware but you just need to be patient once you drop it off. It will be sent off, assessed for quote, you'll receive an email quote, give the go ahead (or not), and it could come back quickly or take half a year or more.

We sent one of my B’s to the Hermes spa last October. Nothing serious just some light touchup so we chose the text message notification method. I honestly forgot about this bag because of all the other things happening… When we gave the bag to the store, their wifi wasn’t working and printer was down. We never got to see the actual tracking file until we stopped by in November when store was pure holiday chaos.

Well.. A few minutes ago I pulled out the tracking file and found out they filled out this thing with the wrong phone number! It was one digit off. Who knew someone else has been getting updates on the H spa progress this whole time! Let’s hope they haven’t tried using my identity to grab my bag lol!

I'd think it'd come back looking fab as the leather is intact and it only looks like a bit of colour rub on the corners, lovely bag!

So a small update on my recent admission to the H spa. To recap, I last posted because I was afraid of sending my vintage piece in (it has already been reviewed and authenticated by the amazing bbbb).

Well, I turned it in yesterday and obviously they took it. The bag is a rare vintage design and to this day I still do not know the name of it, and neither did bbbb. There were four associates and the manager that came by and no one knew as well. They eventually had to put the name of my bag under the 'trim' as that is possibly the closest in design/style.

Their estimated return date is December 2024

Good thing I'm in no rush, but I'm still excited to see how they revitalize it! And, maybe even get me the name of the bag!
@Hikar1, how did the vintage bag turn out from the spa? Did you get it back in December? Also, I am curious how your trim bag came out from the spa and the cost? I am thinking about bringing mine in, but don't want to be without it for so long ha! The only thing mine really needs is a new clasp due to gold plating wear that has finally become quite noticeable after 23 years!

I had a bag in a similar color as yours. The spa did a bad job at color matching the paint. After the spa, the bag looked like it had grease stains in the corners because the new stain was so much darker than the original. Also, in one of the corners, the re-colored part came off almost instantaneously from removing the bag from the dustbag. Ive read that H spa uses some sort of color cream that eventually wears off and you're back in square one.
