I'm currently in Japan looking to pick up a B30 preloved with Komehyo or Amore Archive and my main concern is if the bag have been repainted or not. When I asked at QOO they said usually the seller would let them know if it has been repainted and it would be marked down but I'm extra cautious as to not drop 5 figures for a bag just to have it be denied at the H Spa.

I tried using the search function but can anyone please shed lights on how to tell if a bag has been repainted? Any telltale for a novice like myself?

Thanks!
I went to JP last year to get my K32 and I did ask the sellers. They were quite honest with me. I almost purchased a box K32 and I asked if it was retouched and they did say yes, so I found something else. I ended up purchasing from Komehyo, and the rubbed corners didn't deter me as I knew it didn't seem touched up. I was right, it just returned from the spa!! You can see my post above 😀

I bought a kelly a while back which had uneven feet and would wobble ever since day 1. I did notify my SA of the issue as soon as I discovered it when I got home and she offered a full refund but I decided to keep it and hoped with use it'll even out.

WHELP. After almost a year, the issue persists so I brought back to the store to get it repaired. The Operations Manager came out to tell me that the artisans will try to even it out but there's also a possibility that it's a feet misalignment issue and should have never been sold because it's a defect. In that case, they'll give me credit but can't guarantee when they can offer me another kelly.

Is there any one else who had this issue previously and would like to share their experience? It's my first time spa-ing anything and I'm bummed there's a possibility it's not fixable.
Hi -- I just posted a thread a few weeks ago. I had the same issue with a Kelly28 I bought from boutique. I just posted my update -- which I'm not thrilled with. What ended up happening with yours?

Hi guys!

I had a accident with my new mini Kelly 😫 and dropped it on a wood panel.

It’s been nicked and looks quite deep. Has anyone been able to repair Epsom leather scratches like this from the Hermes’ Spa?

What was your experience and how long did this take?

Thank you in advance 💕

Hi! Can you share your experience on what happened with the spa please? I have a similar issue… the leather has peeled off on the edge and I’m worried it can’t be fixed. Thank you!

Hi, I’m new here. The color of the front heatstamp (Hermes made in France) of my birkin is fading. I’m considering to do a restamping at Hermes. But I saw in the comment section that only Paris can do the restamping with alignment. I live in southeast asia so I need to make sure the risk of doing a restamp. Is it true that theres a risk of blurred logo if you do a restamp? Or if any of you have done a restamp, can you please share your experience? Thanks in advance

Hi! I haven’t sent it off just yet. I had my SA and the manager look at the bag and they said it could cost almost the price of a new bag. Because the scratch is deep and in the center - they would need to replace the entire leather panel.

It could take up to 6-8months therefore I decided to enjoy using the bag a bit more before parting ways with her :(

Hi! Sorry, I've been away from the forums recently since life got a bit crazy these past couple of months.

They sent it to Paris and after about 5 months of waiting, Paris determined it was faulty. They said I could either take the bag back or get store credit. I knew if I took the bag back, the uneven feet would annoy me enough to not use it so I took the store credit.

My SA told me that since I already received a B and a K this year, they can't offer me a replacement bag immediately but will as soon as they can and will apply the credit towards it. I slowed down in spending a tiny bit because I couldn't make time to get into the store (I suck at work life balance) but when I went to see my SA last week, she confirmed my wish list so I guess it's right around the corner?

I'm upset that I no longer have a kelly 28 (which was my first BK ever) and no longer have a reminder of the excitement of my first bag offer, but totally understand that with the bags being handmade things can happen - I just didn't expect it to happen to me. I'm happy with my current H bag collection that I'm in no hurry to get a third bag which the SM and ASMs were grateful to hear.

Hi, everyone! Hope the holidays are lovely so far.

Back in September, I dropped off my MK in Paris at my store to be sent in as there was an issue. H took it and shared it should be ready end of December, tentatively on the 30th.

Recently on the status page, it has updated to say,

"Dec. 20, 2024

Your file is following its course.

Our teams will not fail to keep you informed."

For those of you who have dropped off bags at your home stores in Paris, what exactly does this mean?

We leave for our honeymoon on 04JAN, and I can cram in a quick trip to Paris before then, but wanted to see if anyone could chime in, if possible - please & thank you!

Appreciate y'all!

I have a bag there since October, I have not received a quote yet. I followed up and I heard they are behind and I might hear by the end of January.

Does anyone know if Hermes spa can fix crooked stitching on a bag? If they can re-stitch, would they be able to repair the crooked stitch holes as well? :/ it’s a bag with contrast stitching.

Accepted first qb offer and was so excited that I didn’t inspect the bag closely but when I got home, saw crooked stitching and it’s been bugging me so much. Reached out to SA and was referred to after sales and I’m still waiting but I was wondering if any of you guys have experienced something like this?

I received a quote to replace the panel of my Constance that got damaged. They would replace the back of the bag and the flap, since it is one piece.

They sent the closest piece of leather that they could find to match the original color.

What do you think of it? Do you think the difference will be very perceptible? I am afraid of repairing and the color looking very different from the front panel.

Thank you so much. ❤️

For all intents and purposes, it cannot be done. The panels would need to be replaced. I’d try to look at it as one of the features of having a bag made by hand. H will likely say there is nothing wrong with it as it’s a handmade bag. If you cannot live with it, sell it.

Agree, and I would not do it. I believe another member recently had an issue with handle replacement that turned out badly.
If you do a search, I’m sure it will pop up.
Thank you❤️, I saw that. Unfortunately I just heard the Spa cannot do anything about the bag except for replacing the whole panel, it got color transfer from denim and heavy scratches on the back. They said that cleaning will not help.

The insurance will cover the panel, so I think I will need to do that. Hopefully it won’t come back too different 🙏

You don’t have much choice I think and since the insurance covers it, might as well do it. Otherwise you will just have to live the damage and it will bother you even more…
