Not sure why you gave me an emoji like that? I am politely asking as I plan to purchase the bag and I don’t own it yet, so I don’t know.
Next time, please be mindful of your emoji. I thought this is a good thread. I was wrong.
No, no please do not misunderstand. I am shocked at the cratering and very worried that spa cannot repair this for you. I did not mean anything else.

what emoji?
has the post been edited?

back to the original posting
it is very strange looking damage
and looks as if the skin had always been like that and a scab has been flicked off
however I can't imagine that such a flawed skin would have passed through the early selection stages, let alone been used
it would be very hard to correct it because the skin pebbling in a circular pattern forms a crater

I think @rossignol555 was refering to the mindblown emoji after the post stating they did'nt know what or how the damage came about.
Now we realise the bag does not belong to them yet that makes sense.
It looks very much like a cigarette burn to me..almost as if someone deliberately stubbed a cigarette out on the bag.

When a bag goes to spa and they give a quote and time frame ,is it just an approximate ?Mine is just spa and I gave in mid October and they sent a quote and time frame as 24 weeks .Is that how long they take ? I am n UK btw .

you can expect the quote to be firm - a quotation being different from an estimate
the time frame is approximate, but gives Hermes a generous window

I just got my Kelly back from the spa (I missed her so much LOL) but after 5 months, dare I say she looks like she is not even close to being 31 years old!! I love how the courchevel leather has held up over the years, and she now has more life in her!! Also, the hardware returned with stickers on, so I can have a de-stickering experience! Thank you Hermes 🧡 20241209_161612.jpg20241209_161356.jpg20241207_163041.jpg

Hi all I’m considering getting this bag pre-used. It is in excellent condition except for some discoloration in the turn lock and a white spot right next to the plate on which the turn lock is attached. Does this seem like a relatively straightforward spa fix? Thank you.

I think the turn lock may be loss of palladium plating if it's showing through yellow, in which case the only option would be to replace it. It could just be tarnish though given that the sticker appears to still be on the rest of it, so presumably not heavily used. Either way it's fairly easy to get it repaired, just a little more expensive if it needs to be replaced.
The white mark may be the fats in the leather coming to the surface in which case it just needs warming up a little and could well disappear.

Has anyone fixed this type of wearing/damage issue before? I really don't want to send the bag to Paris if possible, and am hoping it can be fixed by a local artisan.

Yep, I think on all of the bags I've owned at some point . I wouldn't send it in just for that personally, but mine have all been fixed whilst in for other reasons. If there's a local artisan I'm sure they can do it.

This has been my experience as well. Its truly impossible to tell, unless you hold the bag in hand and are experienced enough to look for the clues. 😕

I'm currently in Japan looking to pick up a B30 preloved with Komehyo or Amore Archive and my main concern is if the bag have been repainted or not. When I asked at QOO they said usually the seller would let them know if it has been repainted and it would be marked down but I'm extra cautious as to not drop 5 figures for a bag just to have it be denied at the H Spa.

I tried using the search function but can anyone please shed lights on how to tell if a bag has been repainted? Any telltale for a novice like myself?

Thanks!

Your concerns are well founded.
You are wise to want to be reassured about this
and probably other matters of authenticity.
To be realistic there are no shortcuts to personal experience.
You need to be honest with yourself that this may not be the route for you to get the bag you want.
Whatever sellers might say, it might not be the truth.
I know you are unlikely to be able to walk in and buy at Hermes.
Some people are still lucky. A trip to Paris and hope to get allocated a place.
