I’ve bent mine. The square thingie has also come loose. . . On these pics above, the plating wore down. S9mehow most of my issues are with kelly bags; birkins seem okay. But, I brought my bbk 28 retourne in at the same time as the blue indigo sellier 28. They returned both last year, but forgot to do anything to the bbk. Then they told my SA that I could pick up last week, and they forgot again to do anything. So they promised to rush it for this week bc they’ve had it for months. . .i told my SA lol that if the bbk was spa-ed, that I wasn’t paying for H Spa more than once and he agreed lol. not sure if it will be the same price as my last one. I find it’s important to be patient and almost forget you have the bag bc of delays.

Oh man forgot to do something hahahah! I hope your bag comes back soon!! That sounds like torture to wait so long.. but it also sounds very Hermes haha.

I doubt anyone else would even notice! Just use it for the summer then send it in. I had a look and it cost me £130, but that was in 2016 and it was a very old bag with a lot of other things needing doing so I don't know if that was standard at the time, or if they went easy on me!

Fingers crossed!! I think I'll just have to rock it.. bent and all. hahah

Hi I’d like spa my bag but I noticed there is weird colouring on my piping. Anyone know why that is? This was purchased 2nd hand. It’s only in the 4 corners and doesn’t go up the length of the bag.

Not sure if this fits the thread, but I wanted to ask here before going to the store. I have a swift bag with floppy / flexible sides (birkin), and the uppermost parts of the leather on both sides are getting very stiff and crunchy. I tried putting saphir on them, and it did help for a little while. It seems to me like it could be because of the glue used, as the stiffness stops about midway down on both sides at the exact same spot, and the two leather panels that make up the sides of the bags are loose (you can feel that there are two of them) after that.

I'm worried that the leather might crack if this situation doesn't change. Does anyone else have any experience with something similar?

I will take it to the spa, but I'm afraid they won't be able to do anything or won't understand what's wrong...

Does it look under normal light like the corners were touched up? I've seen resellers use that light before on corner pictures they post to show when bags have been repainted in certain areas. That light is how resellers can tell when something has (usually) been repainted. Did the seller disclose anything, or can you ask them? My H bag had its corners redone at the spa so I'd imagine under ultra light it would show up, too.

Try to be more positive.
Although from your description the problem seems clear,
the only way to address your concerns is to have the bag inspected in person.
If you are going to take the bag to spa with such a negative expectation, why bother?

Are we allowed to put in a request on what we would like to get replaced/spa’d or is it up to the discretion of the repair person?
I just noticed a small cut on my strap close to half an inch and was thinking of getting it replaced.

Thank you

the bags are sent for assessment
at that point you should point out anything in particular that you consider needs attention
you receive a report and then agree to whatever work you want done

Yes, of course.
Stores with an artisan will often have you meet with the artisan and discuss.
Stores without an artisan (this includes Paris as the bags go to the atelier) - they will send for assessment with any notes that you have. A half-inch cut would certainly call for repair. When you get your quote you can check it over.

So I noticed this white mark on my Epsom Birkin yesterday! Thinking it was something that dribbled on my bag, I tried to clean it off with a leather cleaner. It did not come off! The leather itself wasn’t damaged so it didn’t look like a scratch. I took it to the spa at Madison and the craftsperson was able to do a quick service on it and thankfully removed the mark! She thought it could’ve been hand sanitizer or lotion … I have no idea what it could’ve been! I only waited about 10-15 minutes for the service, but if she would not have been able to remove it, then they said they would need to take it for a full cleaning, which would take 4-5 months. So I’m very happy she was able to fix it! The craftsperson was also very lovely. I did mention that I tried to clean it with leather cleaner and she said they recommend just using a damp cloth, and anything that doesn’t come off, just bring it in. And there was no charge for the quick service.

Excellent result

and the message is
first port of call - just take it in to Hermes - you have nothing to loose

Im looking to either sale or fix my kelly at the Hermes spa but im a bit anxious to go and ask them if its fixable. The fabric portion has collapsed and I was wondering if anyone has experience of Hermes fixing a bag to make it not slouch and basically not collapse. If someone or anyone has experience or know if it's possible for them to fix it please let me know. I'll upload a pic or two. Thanks to everyone in advance!

Not sure slouch is an issue to be fixed, but no harm in asking. Perhaps try to store it with a bag pillow, archival tissue or ‘stuffing’ of choice or use with a bag organizer? ( I personally do not recommend one that presses against the sides to avoid stress). A retourne toile will ‘slouch’ more than a sellier which is its charm, and a larger bag will slouch more than a smaller one.
