My vintage Kelly came back with different date stamp because the sangles were replaced with a new stamp that is hard to read. My store said it’s normal. I’m very disappointed at first because the year has meaning to me.
Sorry to hear that was the case 😔
I dropped off my vintage kelly last week at spa and it sounded like a local workshop would be working on it. Curious what repair work you opted in for your kelly besides the sangles!

Thank you! This is so helpful. Did your kelly previously have 2 D-rings? Mine only has 1 D ring without straps (from 1974) and the after care rep I spoke to mentioned there’s an option to add a double D ring and a strap if the handle is to be replaced. Curious if you added that option or not.
Originally, mine is also from 1974, so no straps. I was offered the same option for the D-rings, but I prefer to maintain the bag in its original design for a vintage look.
If you are replacing the handles and the sangles, there will be a possibility that the color will not match 100% to the original.

Hi @aqua_flash you didn’t address me but I got my Kelly back last week. She’s from 1993 and I have decided to add the double d ring as they had to replace the handle.

Ah kelly birth year twins! I’m leaning towards keeping the original handle as is to your point for reserving the original look. The color matching concern is good to know!

I was also told that handle replacement would have the bag traveling to Paris for a longer turnaround time vs the time spent in the local shop.

I got her back  it was a bit quicker than expected and the result is amazing.

Btw does anyone have an idea which color this actually is? The SA had no idea and I have no invoice or other documents available as the bag is from 1993.
The leather is Vachette Ardennes and the color is Natural. It’s not Gold, although it looks similar. You don’t show it but I’m thinking the Hermes stamp on the front is brown and not gold as well. Another indication that it’s Natural. Ardennes wasn’t available in Gold actually.

Thank you so much @bababebi!! Indeed the stamp is brown and not gold. Thank you so much!

I am not able to see a difference in colour, it’s absolutely perfect. I have added pictures to a post one page before.
The bag already had a strap, therefore I didn’t order one.
Beautiful bag & the handle matches perfectly! Makes me look forward to my post-spa kelly!

Attached is a before pic. She’s in box leather in color ebene i believe. Will share an update once she travels back 🥰

So I was wondering whether to put the trigger on a fjord gold b35 but the seller had lost its clochette and keys…

Considering fjord had been discontinued, wonder if Hermes’ would be able to replace them ?

It may not be possible - I’d ask your after-sales people. Of course the lock and keys can be replaced. FWIW many of us don’t use our clochettes, and ofc the price should reflect the missing bits.
