Beautiful people. Advice needed, my 1 month old Birkin purchased from the store is peeling. Used only twice. I first noticed a peel a week after purchase. I don’t know what happened. What are my options?
As others have suggested, it does not look like a fault
leather only 'peels' if it is reconstituted.

In all cases your first port of call for advice should always be Hermes;
you might be fortunate and there will be an in-house artisan who will be able to attend to it and prevent it getting worse.

Agree with @QuelleFromage . I don’t know why your local boutique won’t accept your bag for evaluation, and/or wouldn’t give you an explanation, assuming that you brought it in personally. ( I always assumed one had to bring in the bag to evaluate whether this can be repaired, especially in a tricky case, but that is simply bc it is what I have always done ).

An exotic repair can easily cost more than the resale price of the bag, especially if you got a good deal. If the skin is damaged, and a panel or entire part has to be replaced, it may not be possible or worth it. A specialist may need to evaluate your bag, and there may not be one on site.

ETA: I don’t know what repairs Madison would do versus what it sends to Paris; I don’t know if you need CITES to transport or even to have it sent back to CA; or if that is possible given CA’s restrictions on exotic leather (including lizard as of 2022) . I am a solid Madison client (both retail and repair), and I also have to say that it can take a very LONG time to get a quote. And, even longer to get a repair. In this scenario, and others related to repair, your SA can also help/advise. Both SAs and repair are usually excited to see older bags.
Thank you. I spoke with someone and they are reviewing the photos and will get back to me. Hopefully they can repair.

Just got my bag back from spa, and I wish I had a before pic, but these handles were nearly black!
Okay just realized… I had spa fabricate a new clochette and tirette BUT they made it without matching the contrast stitching! My B35 is etain but is a candy version so it had the white stitching. They should have matched it, right?

Most definitely. Check the paperwork you signed off on. That would be the first thing I would do. Then reach out and explain to them if it's not right or detailed on there. I'm sure they'll fix it.

Update: my Hermes Kelly has just come back from the Hermes bag spa. Pleasantly surprised that the whole process took just 4 weeks and it’s been touched up beautifully! You can’t even tell that the scuff on the handle and corners were there before. Only thing they couldn’t quite remove were the scratches on the tadelakt leather body.

I've always had good luck with my spa results. Despite all the warnings from my SA not to expect much, every time I've sent a bag to the spa, they exceed my expectations. BTW, what's the color of your bag? I'm loving that shade of red.

Hello All! There's this crocodile porosus bag on auction that I've been eyeing. I'm curious if Hermes can still restore the bag, assuming it hasn't been touched by a third party. Also, is the service fee for exotic leather more expensive compared to normal leathers? TIA
