Here's a new twist. I live in the Caribbean, so supposedly no shipping outside US. BUT, I got an email from my SA yesterday evening that my CDC in crocus w/GHW arrived. I called her today to see how we would handle shipping outside US given the new policy. No problem. My SA said that the policy is directed towards deterring resellers. Hermes will now look at a client's buying (Birkins and Kellys) and shipping history and will determine whether to authorize shipping outside the state or US. She said they are basically targeting buyers of great amounts of Birkins and Kellys that are then shipped to different addresses. So, I should expect my CDC by next week and my Kelly Danse by the summer. :smile1:

Awesome! I'm so happy for you! And a crocus w/GHW! Drool!

Thank you lala28. My SA stated that they were looking at clients buying multiple Birkins and Kellys and shipping them to an address that is different from the billing address on their credit cards.

That's so strange. I mean, I always had to ship to my authorized credit card billing address, so how were others allowed to ship anywhere and everywhere?

I think it depends on SAs, No phone talking about birkin and kelly but some SAs text their clients to tell what they get. Before the new policy, my friend's friend who is in Asia and she is a reseller, asked her SA in NYC to ship international or to the state that no hermes store (both are tax free) or sometimes let her friend to go to the store without paying tax, she is in Asia but her billing address is in the state for Hermes tax free. For the new policy, she asks her friend to go to the store and get the bags for her and ship to Asia. The SA, she emails my friend's friend if she get something. I have no problem with the new policy, it's OK for me to get 2 birkin or 2 kelly per year and I have to pay tax BUT I am sick for the inconsistent policy when I heard the story. How crazy??!! If she can find more than one friends to get the birkin and kelly for her, can you imagine how many she can get B and K in one year. And she is a reseller. Come on Hermes! How you can control the reseller!! they have many games to play with you! She's already asked her SA to get at least 2 birkin or 1 birkin and 1 kelly if she is in the US. The sad point is some resellers they don't care much about or bother to buy other bags, jewelry, chinawear or home decoration ( OK, they keep buying belts straps and buckles because they can sell and make some money in Asia) But all they want is B and K TO SELL AND MAKE MONEY.

Many times I have shipped to another address different than my billing address. But both addresses are considered home :smile1:

I know AMEX allows you to have a second "authorized" billing/shipping address, but how can someone ship to different addresses other than the two "home" addresses? That's what I don't understand....:confused1:

I've purchased gifts for my brother and his family to be shipped to their residence in Texas. When my SA asked me if I was shipping to my billing address and I said yes, she stated what I previously wrote.

I hope you don't think I was attacking you! It just doesn't make sense to me. Supposedly Hermes limits the number of Bs and Ks per year to most customers, now they claim they want to see where are these buyers "of large amounts" of those bags are shipping them? Maybe I'm naive, but I think most resellers get the majority of their bags from a number of people, that they themselves are hardly buying up all the bags themselves. I don't think Hermes is going to solve the reseller issue at all by doing that. I think they're promoting people to buy from resellers, especially those of us who live nowhere near a boutique and are left with little other options.

I wonder the same. I don't ship to my home address but I don't use a CC either. I have never tried to ship to another address using my CC, before.

There are a lot of tricks that some resellers or clients are doing with the new policy, these are some tricks from what I know:
- They lived or worked in the US and moved to other countries but they still remain their billing address in the US on one or two of their cards. They sometimes call the bank that they change the address.
- They pay cash to avoid the billing address and use their friend's name who lives in the state where has no Hermes store (tax free) to buy the bags so they still remain the quota for B and K for the next purchase.
- They are in other countries, they ask their friends to buy the bags on their friend's credit card and they wire money back to their friends later and ask their friends to ship the bags to wherever.
- Mostly they can do this in bigger Hermes stores because they have more B and K and SM hardly keep watching every single bags and EVERY SINGLE SA ON EVERY SINGLE DEPARTMENT!!

Don't worry sweetie. Everyone is just confused about what is going on. I only hope you can get some good news from your SA. :hugs:
