What is it they say? Don't look a gift horse in the mouth? Lol!

I also have signed and filed credit card authorization forms, with six different stores no less, and after the recent changes, only my local store will honor them and only if I pick up the item in person. :(

I signed and faxed cc authorization forms with my SA in the event I was traveling when the bag I'm waiting for arrived. The idea was it would be charged to my card and held for shipping until after I returned home. That was prior to all the confusion with charge sends that we're now experiencing. I am currently home and still hoping for a call from H. If the bag can't be sent though, I'd rather not know my SA received it as I wouldn't be able to pick it up in person. Lilith1 you're so fortunate; enjoy your new Evelyn.

I must be as thick as a brick. How do these new rules stop resellers? It is not like they walk in wearing an Reseller t-shirt ala the scarlett letter. It seems more like let's see how pissed off we can make customers? Btw, I'm still not buying the idea that things are changing in an effort to thwart reselling. No corporation operates in such fashion.

I chuckle at the short notice to decide. Unless I have a helicopter and they a landing pad on their roof there is no way I could get to the boutique in less than 1.5 hrs. Toss is bumper to bumper traffic and/or an accident, we are talking Mission Impossible.

Maybe H should institute an intelligence test to determine those who can purchase, or have a turn in a reseller program where you turn in the name of resellers and rack up gold stars. Get enough stars and you get to buy a purse..

:giggles::giggles::giggles: good post jmen!

I'm beginning to think that birkins should be special order only. It certainly would make it easier - and they could charge even more! - to simply have a bespoke birkin and no "ready to wear". There would be no politics on what SA gets to sell what and when and while resellers might exist, they would not be able to run an operation that simply targets and buys up available stock (by being sneaky and bribes & taking it from the hands of regular old customers) since there would not be any and they would have to wait for their bags like the rest of us.
I totally agree! :)

I was able to charge send, but I needed to be at the store for them to swipe my card....even though they have what they need in the safe. The charge send required "special" permission from what I understand.

No one at the store was happy about the new rule. They are hoping it will morph or be rescinded all together.

Shoes are not included as leather goods....but keychains are. Go figure!

Which is funny because I was told by the SM at my local H on Tuesday that leather key charms are NOT considered leather goods in terms of purchase / shipping restrictions! Nor are leather belts! Hee hee hee (insert insanity here!)

Okay, dumb question. I was waiting to purchase a Cheval d'Orient vase so that I could have it shipped directly from the store for a wedding gift. If I show up in person and pay for it in person, can I then have the store ship it to the recipient? Otherwise I may as well just buy it now and pay for shipping myself, avoiding the inevitable price increase occurring later on this year (merely speculation)

lala ~ How crazy is that? Very. Maybe they don't have re-seller appeal, but it works out well for loyal H customers. :smile1:
