I feel bad for you Julide...you are such a great customer of Hermes! I think they should consider how long each individual has been a customer before banning them. Terrible, I know it is insane.

I know it is crazy. I do agree the about long standing customers, but for all we know the long standing customers are the ones who could be the resellers! I hope in time things are sorted out. I personally would rather follow it than the rule bending, which I think is the reason why these rules have been put in place. I can always find ways to spend money!!;)But I hope one day to spend again (over the phone of course!!:amuse:) at H.:flowers:In the mean time it is a perfect excuse to travel frequently!!:p

BTW I could never hold a candle to some other tPFers who are excellent clients of H!!:flowers:

Julide, at the risk of being banned here, I agree with you. I think overall the new H policy is a good one, although it hurts some TPF friends here that we love. Some of the resellers have really obscene prices for the newest goods.

I would be the first one banned so no worries!!:flowers:I think we do not, nor will we ever have all the facts. So I have to believe that H is doing what they feel is in their best interest. I do hope it gets sorted out soon! I love shopping over the phone!!:p

Julide, I do love shopping over the phone, it absolutely pains me to shop in person. I am trying to be respectful of their policy change and hope that it is for the good of everyone :smile1:

I think these are very astute observations! I agree with all of them, and fortunately (this time) I´m not in the US and the rules do not seem to apply where I am. We don´t have the same problem with re-sellers here, not big enough country/enough potential customers etc.

I must absolutely agree w julide here :flowers:... For obvious reasons. I travel to shop for H at my store, which is 3 hours drive from where I live- so I am the one having the "excuse for traveling here!!!" :D though I understand not all the members have the means to do that. I have never bought things "over the phone" except saying "yes" or "no" to some pret-a-portér pieces or scarves that were photographed and sent to me via email/phone from my SM.

I understand the new policies are just a "pain" for many of our honest TPF members, who have no close access to H where they live. But we must think of the bad things that reselling and bribing have caused to this market, I think there is some logic behind the new modus operandi...

If it was indeed helpful and positive, only time will tell.

the hermes store at richards in greenwich will be closing as of dec 31, 2012 and the new hermes corporate store will be opening in 2013 in the old best & co space known as the smith building, it is the most beautiful retail space on greenwich avenue IMO.....the hermes store at mitchell's in wesport will continue to stay open but for how long they are not sure - i was told that the hermes plan was to only have corporate stores going forward - i was also told that the reason inventory is so low is b/c hermes corporate thought the demand for goods would be in the east so they sent the bulk of their inventory there and that now they are in a scramble trying to get goods made and/or back to us/europe......

also, i was told from another store that SA's now have a three day hold on all bags....

so many rules!!!

i wonder if the LV stock purchase of H has the executives at H running around making changes trying to protect the company and their vested interest....(btw, hermes stock is up approx 75% from last year!! we should have been buying H stock on the bourse not bags!!)

biogcc2 - so happy you will be getting your bag! :smile1:

calisnoopy - i wonder why manhasset would not ship? i thought they are a non-corporate store? is it not anymore??

etoupebirkin said exactly what I thought. Two months to arrive! Are they putting it on a sea turtle and pointing it towards N.A.? To wait 2 months is not what I call the kind of customer service I expect from any high end luxury goods retailer.

That said, at least corporate called you back; they've found a resolution albeit a very slow one.

i agree!! if it is going to take two months, i would call her and ask her for a custom bag with your choice of color on the inside with a cute hidden monogram!!

i ordered a brides de gala scarf from colette paris and it took 3 days to get to the US!!

SCP is now saying that they will not do phone orders for any item, even if they are non-leather goods (e.g. scarves and shawls). Has anyone heard any differently from this boutique? Please PM me or post here if you have any info on SCP's current policy. Thanks in advance!

This entire 'plan' of corporate Hermes is foggy. Some stores are saying 'no' to all phone orders other than maybe a scarf, while others are still saying that nothing has been finalized. I hope the latter is correct as I live so far away from my H store but have been a loyal customer for years. I still want some H items and would like to be able to get them. I don't want to wait and wait for their decision...decide now and be done with it. The waiting to see what's really going to 'happen' to us phone customers is annoying to me. I do feel badly for the SAs who have to continually tell us that they are waiting for 'word' on how they're going to handle the loyal phone customers. Like many corporate decisions, the people making them don't really 'know' what's happening under them. The decision to make changes just sounds good on paper.
