Also - a different SA (prior to me be being assigned to one during my first visit) said that in the 8 years she’s worked at Hermes, only 5 Kelly pochettes have come into their boutique. Are Kelly pochettes really that difficult to obtain in NYC or just another SA trying to lower my expectations?
Kelly pochette is indeed more rare than MKs. When I got mine last year my SA said it was the first one in almost a year that they saw.

Got it! I was originally hoping to add a pochette to my list but after I was told that, I switched to the MK. If you have any tips on how to get a pochette
, happy to hear them :)

Then add it to your list. Wall has the lowest stock in NYC but you’re also dealing with the least amount of competition of huge spenders. Youre loving the SA you worked with, so enjoy the shopping.

Ah SA told me that this monday wall street hermes will be open and they are usually open on mother's day too. This was good to know and interesting. Nowhere on the site tells me about this kind of flexible scheduling.

also - I ended up staying with the SA. Y'all are wise and right about how the relationship is too early. I do kinda wonder what the attrition rate is for SAs.

Hi All! There are some RTW items I currently want that are OOS at my boutique, but available online. My SA has ordered items online before for me while in store together, but they were smaller things. I know she will get commission for the sale, but wondering how online purchases vs. buying boutique inventory will impact my profile/spend, if at all? This would be 5-7k worth of items. Thank you!

It’s better to buy available stock directly in store, but buying something you actually want/love is most important. With stock levels the way they are, we are all pulling items from wherever they are available (charge sends, web via SA, transfers) so it is completely expected behavior.

I wrote this out somewhere else awhile ago but I’ll do it similarly here. Let’s say you like a sweater but can’t decide if you like the white version or the black version better. Your home store has the white version in stock in your size. The black version would need to be ordered from the website. You slightly prefer black sweaters. In pure terms of benefit to your profile, your best options in descending order are:
1) Buy the white sweater in stock at your home store.
2) Buy a different, slightly less expensive black sweater in stock at your home store.
3) Order the Black sweater from the web via your SA.
4) Don’t buy anything.
5) Order the Black sweater from the web yourself at home.

Thank you for this detailed reply! Does the same apply for charge sends from other stores then, since it's not technically boutique inventory?

Yes. I’d posit that a web order is technically a tiny step above a charge-send as it’s a) less work and b) not giving a sale to a “competing” store but honestly this is all so in the weeds and not at all something you should be worried about as a client.

+1 to not worrying about it.

In a scenario similar to the sweater one above, my SA got me to try on the store stock for size, and I felt like the color was just not perfect, they encouraged me to get the version I really liked online via them (in store on the POS machine). I think that's the mark of a good SA.

After seeing my SA (Madison location) this week, she told me that for 2024, stock was going to be overall extremely low, especially for QB, and that this year most people would only get one QB.

I don’t know if she meant for me specifically and my situation… I’m definitely not a top spender but I’m exactly a year from my last QB at 6:1 waiting for a mk… but thought it was worth sharing.

She made some comments about how there wasn’t a kelly belt with palladium hardware over an 8 month span and similar situations. I guess that as sales are booming they are under a lot more pressure with a lot less inventory, even at such a successful store. Additionally, she kept saying “I believe 2025 will be a lot better”

Just thought it was worth sharing as insight. She also said she hasn’t sold a mk since Sept… but a friend of mine was offered one at same store with diff sa last month.

In speaking with an SA that we know pretty well, he mentioned something about SAs also receiving a quota of how many quota bags they can sell per quarter. The demand has been insanely strong.

All of this makes sense to me. Hermes has the supply/demand formula down to a science and corporate likely does not want a flood of bags out there. Also, other departments are doing very well, so they want to keep the profits coming in from those departments instead of just from leather where “the bags sell themselves”
