Well also I can pretend that was prespend for the two non quota bags I managed to get this year (one online). I know I know, I keep reading that they are just busy but it hurts, because they want us to follow this regimented and strict system of buying from one person and place, but then aren't providing the service you would expect from a luxury brand (I want my amex platinum concierge/ any hotel level of service for this price).
Also - do you think someone will actually notice me being a regular customer? Is there some trigger/review that makes them think of you once you have been a loyal customer?
Loyal to H means you spend regularly and buy from the same SA over a longer term. No SA I know wants to spend a lot of time on someone who is in it for one quota bag or for someone who shops around. I know it’s very nerve wracking and not pleasant but if you don’t like it, query if you are better switching stores. There’s no pony in shopping regularly and being upset.

I think you should think of the "prespend" as the money you spent on stuff you wanted, like a pair of shoes or whatever it was you bought. You will drive yourself crazy otherwise. I have been there!

I'm not sure what you mean by if they will notice that you are a regular customer... they will naturally remember you if you shop regularly.
It's because I feel like they forget me as soon as I walk out the door lol. I can't imagine anyone thinking of me when it comes time to allocate quota bags in a year or so, when I have come in more. I usually only come in with an appointment when I am certain I want something, because I know how busy they are.

Yeah I love to buy other things, but they legit have like nothing actually IN the store, it's nuts. And let me just say, that whole balcony thing on the top floor of the Madison location is gorgeous.

I shop at MP and have not had any problems finding things I like to buy LOL! (Fortunately or unfortunately haha) They have a decent selection of RTW, shoes, jewelry/watches... anything they don't have in the store, my SA either orders for me or does a charge send and it shows up at my doorstep a few days later. Got some great RTW items at the womens trunk show this past weekend, and my husband got some nice mens items from the mens RTW event several months ago. We also did a special order watch event a few months ago as well. I usually go in and browse what they have, and may ask about a few things I may have noticed online. I don't routinely ask him to source items for me that I find on the website, unless I am physically in the store. They can't order things from the website for you unless you are physically in the store. We have a great relationship with our SA and he has been very good to us.
Anyways, back to my original advice, I think you should shop where you are the happiest shopping and don't worry about the other stuff. :flowers:

I’m pretty sure unless you’re dropping bank every visit, most sa will forget about 80% of their “regular clients” items. I’m counting myself in this forgettable group. The logistic of the matter is it’s too much work to think about the small items for so many different clients. And then the items don’t happen to magically appear day after it was mentioned so it gets left by the way side.

My SA even told me to remind her as much as possible. Honestly that’s why I prefer to just drop in the store and see what I find that day. It’s just less work for me as well.

Esp in smaller stores where stock is limited, it becomes even harder for sa. Just switch to a bigger store if it makes it easier for you to find other things.

Madison in general has more stock, which is why they may be able to offer you leather good on the spot. Since you just started shopping, I think it's understable that your SA may forget you. While you only have 1 SA, your 1 SA works with at least 10 customers each day, and some may spend more.

A relationship takes time so eventually your SA will remember you. However, you should shop at the location and with whichever SA you find the most joy. It's your hard earned money!

So I posted this in the main thread, but I am going to post it again here because it is more NY specific:

I am a newer client to Hermes, and have spent maybe 7k with one really nice SA at MP. Lately I feel like they are not super responsive - I ordered something through them to be sent to the store to try on, and it's been a few weeks without any update from them. I have had to message them in the past to remind them about things I ordered. If I don't message they apparently never "arrive" and I never hear about it again. They did give me a non quota bag after 2k in spend months ago, which I appreciate, but I am wondering if they wants to continue to work with me due to the non-responsiveness.
I went to the Madison location and they offered me a kelly compact wallet or a roulis belt bag type wallet (passed - this spending would be high enough to upset my regular store) and rodeos (took one - was the exact color I wanted, not expensive) immediately, and I am wondering if I should switch to that SA and store and reset my spend before I am in too deep. MP basically said that a rodeo for a bag I just bought (online, because they said they did not have this non quota bag either which is fine) is something I would need to work towards. I have 3 things I want to buy in store at the moment when my order arrives, but it seems like my SA is too busy to set this up or something. I make sure to always ask for things I could easily order online, so they can get commission in store.

another SA at Madison told me NOT to switch, and that her store has more inventory but also big spenders. I chose MP because I figured there would be less competition, but I LOVE the madison ave store, and just browsing/seeing new stuff on my lunch break, and I was really impressed that they offered me those items without even seeing my profile. I am kind of annoyed, because I don't feel like I am getting the customer service I would like considering I only ever make an appt if I am 100% sure I will be spending money. I just want them to let me know if something I requested has come in, without me needing to bother them nonstop.

What should I do? Once I buy at madison I obviously can't switch back. I have this fear in the back of my mind that I could spend a ton of money at one store over years and be like 100% forgotten about. Is that a thing, or is someone actually looking out for me/paying attention?
I honestly think moving to Madison will make you happier in the long run.

They have much more inventory- when it comes to EVERYTHING.

As someone who’s not really a big spender but somewhere in the middle, I found that once my SA and I got over that early phase (I guess where she wasn’t sure if I would be a long term client etc) it became very fun, enjoyable, and non stressful. I also became much more aware of what it means to be a good customer… and I found that not only being patient and kind but DECISIVE is interestingly what made things move in the relationship for me.

I’ve only received one QB in this first year of my H journey but it was a good one (K25 sellier black phw). I stayed with my SA at Madison and continued spending on what I loved regularly until she recently brought up what I would like next and said we can do a MK. Again- I am definitely not one of the big spenders.

I think that, although people are intimidated by the idea of the big spender’s at Madison, at the end of the day, those big spenders have all the classics and are really aiming high. If you’re looking to get a couple of classic bags, it’s actually a great place because of how many they receive. Some may disagree but this is what I have assumed.

It sounds like you've already decided that Madison is a better store, so you should shop there as it makes you happier. :) Shopping should be a happy experience, not stressful.

It really sounds like you want the answer to be Madison, so make it so. This is shopping, and isn’t supposed to be stressful. We’ve had similar experiences as you with many SAs at many different boutiques.

Specifically to MP, the amount of customers to SAs is insane. Whenever we go to MP, it’s only with an appointment when we know we will have our SA to help us instead of dealing with the 20 people just sitting in the chairs upstairs waiting. I’m sure that the late hours and weekends make it harder for them to hire the SAs required, especially with MP losing some to Williamsburg.

I’ve had quite a few times that a text hasn’t been answered, but then will receive a text out of the blue apologizing because of how busy they all are.

While most folks know their SA isn’t just THEIR SA, at this price point, the level of service is expected to be at a high level no matter the channel. We one of hundreds of regular clients that an SA deals with. I tend to cut them all of the slack in the world as their jobs are hard.

Long rambling note. Summary, If you want the dedicated, high end service where there won’t be things that drop through the cracks, set up an appointment and go into the boutique. Is it as convenient as texting? Not really. But it will be fun and likely you’ll leave satisfied.

I connected with a super new SA in the leather section who had just started - would

That's great! I was totally ready to switch but was thrown off by the second SA at Madison telling me not to switch to her store. That was confusing. I think I will feel out the last order request I had for my existing SA and then see how it is in person with her.
The other thing to consider is that the SA who offered me stuff the first time at Madison (not the one who told me I should stick with my current SA and be patient) had JUST started like a week prior, so he might have no sway there.

Oh yeah I always set up one, the problem is that they never have anything at that location, so they will have to order me different heels and whatnot to try on. I will have to wait until my SA tells me they have something for me to try on, at which point I have to come in with an appointment. I will feel so guilty at taking a ton of time for this process, that I won't ask them to grab things I think I might not end up buying. As an example, I did not want them to order the jumping boots to the store in the winter, because I was not sure they would fit me in the toe or calf. I am kind of mad I spent 7k at one location before visiting the others, because my initial plan was to see them all, but I got too eager once I met a nice SA on my first visit, since I hear so many horror stories about rude ones on here. I also thought Madison would never give me anything because of the big spenders there, but this sub has shown me that this is not the case.

I went to the wall street one, and the SA was SO fake. Got the feeling she would talk about me the instant I left the store lol. When I went to Madison, there were like 10 SAs standing around talking, so the level of service for a walk in was top notch. I think I will switch, thank you everyone for the input.

Well if you don’t dislike MP that much, why not just get your qb before you leave. I mean 7k you’re kinda almost there already. If you’re not going after a super hot bag, just stick around a little more.
I am after a B35 and am open to tons of colors and neutrals! Am I even close? the 7k is without the evelyne I got online which brings me to 10k. I am also after a Kelly 28 or 32 as a second choice.

A b35 shouldn’t be too crazy. I would think 1:1 should be sufficient. But then again they say big bags are coming back. Sorry I just read the post you said you were going to switch, didn’t mean to confuse you. Maybe your hubby can shop at Madison while you shop at mp before you transition completely over there.
