I went to the Madison store yesterday and had a really great experience. The shop was very busy but I literally had to wait only 2 mins before an SA came to assist (I am from Germany so did not have an SA in the city). I purchased a leather bracelet and asked to see the different forms of the Herbag with special interest in the backpack. The SA showed them himself instead of directing me to another SA.

There where quite a view options for the backpack in stock. I did not bring one home since they are just so much more expensive then in Europe and I will travel to Paris in 2 weeks anyways.

Glad you had a great experience. i lbelieve for any bag in Paris, you need a lottery appointment or a regular SA who can offer leather

Do you happen to have any pics!? I’ve been curious to get a backpack in general but it’s hard to find one that I like

Neither is also a possibility. I think it simply means your SA may not be able to get a bearn for your appt. SLG stock is limited these days. I tend to take what an SA tells me literally. It would drive me crazy to read anything else into it. I don’t see and couldn’t speculate re any implication re your relationship or otherwise. JMO

Yes sales specialist is the same as SA. Even though they are assigned to specific departments, they can sell products from all the different departments to their clients. As you noted during your visit, your SA did not hand you off to someone in the leather department when you asked to look at Herbags.

I met my SA in November at madison and have spent about 3k. I noticed his card says beauty and fragrance specialist. He took my wishlist when we first met. I have asked him for a Kelly to go or a Kelly wallet and he’s given me nothing (I since have bought from a reseller). I want to buy more, I have asked him for a pair of shoes and blanket but he says it’s never in store. Do I cut him off? He’s def a newer SA.

Have you asked while you are at the store. If so, the items you want, like the shoes or blanket, may simply not be available or in stock when you asked. If not, he may not be able to hold popular items for a newer distance client or sale. The manager may also not have approved a KTG or K wallet for you, as SLG seem to be harder to acquire these days. You are always free to start afresh with someone else, but that’s something you need to judge for yourself.

ETA: to be honest, 3K between November-present, unfortunately does not really prioritize your requests for any SA at Madison, even a newer first floor SA. This is simply bc there are so many high spenders. Resale might be the better way to go, if time is an issue. (I shop both boutique and resale)

They’re an entirely differnt format and dimension with the same Constance H. IMO Your call if you love the Constance. having said that, while I like the kelly and own multiples in size 25, 28, 32, I have only purchased two K longue wallets to use as clutches. But, I’m not really a fan of H SLG bc they are heavy

Which is more competitive or popular at NYC stores, regular Birkin or touch Birkin? The latter is much more expensive but I guess the number of stocks is low, so I think the latter is more challenging to get as a first QB.

Thank you for your reply! Yes, when I was at the store I asked for a gray/black Avalon and he told me they are hard to come by. I agree I’m definitely not on his priority list, but I’m having a hard time sensing what is feasible with him. I mean do I have to spend 8k to be offered a Kelly to go bc that seems outrageous to me. He’s most certainly pushing me towards ready to wear which I’m fine with but I think bc he’s new he’s become spoiled very quickly.
