Is that true that SAs don't know when QB shipment will arrive at the store? Sometimes I see comments saying they were told by their SAs that bags for them is coming soon.
I don’t know how much notice they get or if there is a set schedule, but my SA said that as soon as he saw a gold sellier 25 on the list, he tagged it. (I dont have a wishlist, but he apparently he had this in mind bc he knew i wanted a 25B; knew i am a fan of sellier K; and that im a neutrals person).

They have an idea what's coming in and an estimated time of arrival. There might be a delay due to some factors though..like Customs issues, and of course inclement weather can cause some delays too. But would I believe that a million dollar shipment from France just comes in the H stores overseas without any tracking number/record of it whatsoever? No..not at all!
One time, SA said to expect my bag (it was a QB) before the New Year. But then SA called days before that saying it came earlier than expected. So yes, they know/have an idea.

They have a sense and sometimes when the shipment arrives the SM will tell them that X bag came for X client (obviously only if the SM is aware of that client's wishes). These days SAs are sometimes told of certain bags that are available for them to offer, but not of others. My Madison SA is still sometimes surprised by what turns up in the back.

True story: when I lived in LA, about 5-6 years ago, my SA called and told me they had a bag for me, come in. I did, and BH had received an entire shipment meant for Madison. There were SO MANY bags. I had three Kellys to choose from, and there were more in the back, and there were several Birkins. Obviously times are different, but that same SA told me a few weeks back that it still happens. Those bags never got to Madison (I still have mine ;)).

BH is well known for hanging on to all their inventory and not playing well with others :lol: If my SA does a search for something and it shows as inventory in BH, we cross the item off my list and move on. I’ve learned from past experience that BH never releases anything to another store.
I guess I should never say never but transfer requests made to BH in the past years never worked for me so we gave up trying.
 
According to most of the posts on this thread, as well as my own experience, sounds like he is simply being honest. If it makes you feel better, I haven’t seen a gray black Avalon* there in quite some time, and I spend quite a bit of time on the home goods floor. I also had to wait months for basic home goods like dishes and glassware, and that‘s simply how it goes. You might have better luck on H.com.

Unfortunately Madison has many high spending clients who are fine with spending 8K plus a visit to get popular or kelly related items. It doesnt matter if he is new or not, significantly higher spend is normal, not outrageous or even unusual. This is why I strongly recommend resale for clients who do not want to wait or who do not find other offerings in RTW or home appealing. The SM may not allow him to make an offer to a smaller client even if he wanted to do so. I’m not sure that you will have a better experience with another SA, but i wish you the best of luck. :flowers:

ETA: @Becky999 , I have been told by several SAs (NY and FSH) that the regular B is harder to get than the touch bc the latter is significantly more expensive. If your first choice is a touch B, you should inquire with your SA re time frame and feasibility. While I was waiting for my gold regular leather sellier 25B, I received maybe three exotic B offers, including, I believe, a touch. If you are interested in a B30, that should also be much easier and quicker than a 25.

I would trust your SAs grasp of stock coming in. Perhaps someone will chime in who has recently accepted an exotic offer with details on wait duration etc. :flowers:

Is this true for QB bags only? My SA requested an inventory transfer for a bunch of RTW from BH location for me, and I received them last week. And my SA doesn't like to play nice - very cutthroat if I ever inconvenience her in anyway lol.

I don’t think anyone could request a transfer of QB bags from any other H store. Has anyone ever actually tried that? My SA has tried requesting transfers of RTW and a bag strap. Never got anywhere with any request so we gave up trying several years ago. Maybe they’ve gotten more cooperative since COVID. I’m glad you were able to get all your transfers in :smile: Maybe I’ll try another transfer request if I see something I’m interested in in the future.

I don't know about bags specifically but regarding this message & the one prior on BH transfers. My personal experience is that the only time I've seen my store have success on yanking inventory (RTW and otherwise) from BH is when they are actually doing an event (e.g. during a watch and RTW events I have seen BH get forced to send inventory to my store but it was pre-allocated to me and was going to be promptly sent back if I declined to purchase it). I had a successful couple of transfers from BH a year or two ago but it was basically at the point where the season was completely over. Madison is very similar too when interfacing with other stores. During RTW launch like what we are seeing for FW right now, stores will generally have a freeze on inventory and no true inventory transfers will generally happen or get approved so that stores can sell through the inventory they actually purchased to stock their store & sell to their clientele. My personal experience is that there is a piece at Madison that I really want that my store did not order, but the only way to guarantee it until we've hit the 30 day post launch + Madison agreeing to turn it over was to do a charge-send.

Not in NYC store but my SA said same thing to me about exotics (very rare and low stock) until I hit 1:1 spending and the bag appeared a few days later. This was last month. You will probably have to spend a bit more.
