You should reconsider the reseller route. Birkin Touch's are slow to move. If you're patient, you can probably find one on TRR or Fashionphile for ~$35K. There's one listed now on TRR for $34K. You're not guaranteed a bag with a pre-spend of $10K, it can be way more, especially at a NYC boutique.
Valid point. I will think about the reseller option. Its just a mindset which hesitates to pay way over retail price. But as you mentioned, that could be the guarantied route. Thank you for taking your time to reply :)

@jv33 , given the relative competition and limited stock, i agree 100% with @1CC. Paris lottery might be an option

talk to the SM. In the US, prespend is relatively fluid, but there are a lot of people who spend 5X plus in a relatively short time who have been waiting patiently. I haven’t heard of a NY SA definitively stating that someone was eligible (in other words promising a bag) due to prespend. In fact SAs are pretty much trained to deny the existence of linked selling, but if she said a bag will be forthcoming, you can get it even if she is no longer there.

ETA: 3:1 within five years may not get you far with the SA, but 3:1 since November should certainly count for something, if only a referral to another SA who isnt leaving, and who the SM will approve for an offer. JMO though
good luck
Yes Paris is another option. But all the videos of people who scored a bag in Paris looks like they got selected for the lottery after having a significant pre-spend. That made me question the lottery logic. I could be wrong as well. Sorry the IT brain took over here :)

I'm not sure what size birkin you want, but just glancing online I saw a few resale for 30-50k. If the bag costs 20k (not sure current price) and you are going to spend 10k in the store, why not go reseller route? If you want to buy from the store I would spend most of your budget on fine jewelry or cashmere RTW. Not saying 10k will be enough spend for a bag, but you never know, you might get lucky.
Thank you BreezyE for taking your time to reply. I was planning to spend the 10k on few fine jewelry pieces and cashmere scarfs. These are pieces I liked irrespective of the quota bag. If luck works out, I will end up with the bag :) If not I will end up with at least few items that I love :)

No prespend required in Paris (I know this from personal experience. Good luck)

Thanks! Oh goodness not 3:1 in 5 years...my lifetime spend is decent enough to have gotten me 6 quota bags over the years, one of which was an SO. I'd say its been 3:1 over the last 9 months? My old SA would hint that I was "due" by asking me what bags were on my updated wishlist and telling me what was achievable / vs not (ie. if i said craie ghw mini kelly, she'd say she doesnt see that enough / there are a lot of other clients who would get it first).

The one that just left gave me contact details for a new SA (but as in, new to the Company) and I suspect I may be better off going to the SM since IIRC there is some seniority aspect to which SAs get approved.
good to know :) At Madison, an SA from any dept can provide bags, but mine told me that if someone is intent on a particular dept, like leather, RTW or home, that particular dept’s SAs have a bit of an advantage.

Has anyone ever had a charge send take a while to ship? I was in Meatpacking last weds and ordered two things thru my SA that haven’t
In my experience they’ve taken a day or two to ship from the sending store and I have fedex delivery notifications, but haven’t received any yet.

I can text my SA if nothing shows up but didn’t know if others had similar experiences - in which case I can chill and wait a few more days. I don’t have a doorman, so anxious for boxes to arrive “unannounced”!

Thank you very much for any insight

I recently had a similar experience with a charge send from MP. Started getting worried after a few days with no delivery notification from Fedex, but then the package magically appeared about a week later. I never did get an email from Fedex. So maybe wait a couple more days...

Would appreciate advice from this group, particularly MP clients! I thought about posting this in 'Maintaining H Relationship' but I wanted to ask the crowd who have NY SAs to assess if what I'm experiencing is 'normal'. I started shopping in early Feb with a new SA in Meatpacking who is friendly, super helpful and patient and gave me her card after our first time shopping. I texted her the following month to make an appointment - she did take 4 days to respond to this request, and I thought that's taking a while but didn't think anything of it. So I shopped with her again in late March and again she was quite friendly and helpful (I'm easy and buy what's in stock in store and I haven't asked her to source anything for me yet) and I was able to start my wishlist.

A week after this shopping visit, I texted her thanking her for her help last time and that I'd like an appointment for Friday April month end. She never responded - so a week later I texted again and told her about my recent vacation and gently asked if she has time for me on the suggested dates. She wrote back "yea I'm in store those days just need to check what times I'm available" and I wrote back "Great! Thank you - please let me know what time works for you". I still have not heard back from her - it's a week since my follow-up. Do I ask a third time for an appointment? Or is this ghosting? I'm very confused because both times she was super helpful grabbing sizes left and right and we had friendly chemistry and I made sure I'm polite and patient. I've spent 0.5:1 so far in these two shopping visits - mix of RTW, shoes and leather jewelry. In your experience, is this kind of non responsiveness normal with your NY SA? I feel a bit annoyed having to beg and plead to spend $$ to luxury shop (as a matter of principle!) but wonder if this is what it's like with NY SAs? Or despite her being nice, is this a not-so-subtle hint that she doesn't want to work with me? Not sure what to do.

Thank you for reading and for your thoughts!

IMO "what time works for you?" is a bit tough for very busy SAs to answer. Their calendars are constantly filling up with appointment requests, by the time she checks her schedule, notes down available time slots, comes back to you to tell you, and then wait for you to confirm, they might be filled up already. Personally I just ask for an exact time/date that works for my schedule, and if my SA is available then it's booked right away.
