My sister-in-law told me she recently walked in Madison and politely asked for a cargo picotin. They immediately offered her a variety of colors with zero purchase history. Thought it was interesting and worth sharing, as I always assumed cargo is super rare.
Oooh pico cargo is on my wishlist, I’ve always thought that they are rare and need some prespend. Will try my luck haha thank you for sharing this!

I don’t believe the demand for the cargo Picotin is very high. Seems most people prefer the classic and the classic is less expensive.

Hi everyone. I am new to Hermes world, infact new to luxury world. I am interested in a Birkin Touch in any of the neutral colors. Probably that will be the only Birkin I wish to buy. From a very old thread, I am estimating the bag to cost around 20k. There are genuinely only few other things which will fit my lifestyle from Hermes and that might potentially add up to 10k. I am a slow spender, so it will take well more than a year for me to spend/ buy these potential items I am interested in. I made one kelly belt purchase in Jan in Madison store and haven't spend anything else until now. Do you think, I might have a chance in getting a Birkin touch at the Madison store. The prices are extremely high in resale market and I do not wish to go that route. So I would either like to buy at the boutique or give up the idea of the bag. Any recommendations/ tips on what needs to be done will be greatly helpful. Thank You

Quick question for those at Madison- I lost a longtime SA of 5 years or so in November, then started a relationship with another one that the SM assigned me...who just left this week. All in all, I've definitely spent 3:1 or more (i was "eligible" for a QB by the time my original SA left). Is this something I should try to talk to the SM about, or am I simply stuck with restarting my prespend a third time?

You should reconsider the reseller route. Birkin Touch's are slow to move. If you're patient, you can probably find one on TRR or Fashionphile for ~$35K. There's one listed now on TRR for $34K. You're not guaranteed a bag with a pre-spend of $10K, it can be way more, especially at a NYC boutique.

@jv33 , given the relative competition and limited stock, i agree 100% with @1CC. Paris lottery might be an option

talk to the SM. In the US, prespend is relatively fluid, but there are a lot of people who spend 5X plus in a relatively short time who have been waiting patiently. I haven’t heard of a NY SA definitively stating that someone was eligible (in other words promising a bag) due to prespend. In fact SAs are pretty much trained to deny the existence of linked selling, but if she said a bag will be forthcoming, you can get it even if she is no longer there.

ETA: 3:1 within five years may not get you far with the SA, but 3:1 since November should certainly count for something, if only a referral to another SA who isnt leaving, and who the SM will approve for an offer. JMO though
good luck

Thanks! Oh goodness not 3:1 in 5 years...my lifetime spend is decent enough to have gotten me 6 quota bags over the years, one of which was an SO. I'd say its been 3:1 over the last 9 months? My old SA would hint that I was "due" by asking me what bags were on my updated wishlist and telling me what was achievable / vs not (ie. if i said craie ghw mini kelly, she'd say she doesnt see that enough / there are a lot of other clients who would get it first).

The one that just left gave me contact details for a new SA (but as in, new to the Company) and I suspect I may be better off going to the SM since IIRC there is some seniority aspect to which SAs get approved.

Actually getting a new SA may be a great thing for you. Typically when you get reshuffled to a long standing SA, that SA has many long term clients of their own whom they feel more obligated to satisfy and you go immediately to the bottom of a very deep pile. A new SA shouldn’t have many clients vying for her attention and with your long standing relationship with the store (read: purchase history), it should be easy for them to push for you for a bag.

I'm not sure what size birkin you want, but just glancing online I saw a few resale for 30-50k. If the bag costs 20k (not sure current price) and you are going to spend 10k in the store, why not go reseller route? If you want to buy from the store I would spend most of your budget on fine jewelry or cashmere RTW. Not saying 10k will be enough spend for a bag, but you never know, you might get lucky.
