Thanks everyone for your responses! I really thought I was going towards a QB soon, which is why I got -honestly- hurt when she looked at me as if I have three heads after asking for a bag. She even put it last time in her phone when I said a Kelly 25.

Anyway, we spoke today and she said a Constance might be easier as a first bag to build towards a QB. Idk if this is true or not, as I don’t know what could be true anymore, but I feel I’ve come this far that I would be happy with atleast a Constance … and maybe hault my spending for a few months till I build up.

Where do you recommend for best resellers? I’ve heard there are many fakes out there unfortunately.

Just an update to those who were keeping along with my story.

No success..

I went in today and looked around with my SA. When I brought up if there was any chance for a bag she was like “no that’s not how it works. You need a leather appointment, many weeks ahead of time after a request. Send me a text with the colors requested.” I said “not even a Constance?” She said “ You can request anything even a mini Kelly (which my eyes lit up because a mini is my dream). And I really suggest you buy that jacket you were looking at”

So I bought a coat that I probably shouldn’t have because I’ve been saving up for a bag. And the coat ate into those funds. Feeling pretty bummed and not hopeful that these efforts would help.

I think I struggle with the .. for lack of a better word.. lies? I understand that there are games to this, that it’s a business catered to people with lots of money… but previously she said a mini Kelly can’t be my first qb and now she implied it could. Then when I texted her my mini Kelly wishlist she brought up the Constance instead.

I don’t know how much I can keep playing these games, especially because I really don’t have so much money to throw the way I know others do… not sure if I should just give up

Oh sorry to hear that. Your SA obviously wants to increase her sales. She wants to "hustle" more. We all know there is an "H game". There is a small opening wherein when the SA "suggests" that you buy more (but she has yet to "deliver" you the bag that you like and had asked for), you can ask about that bag so you know if she really has one to offer or not. Make sure you ask about it clearly yet politely next time. Personally, I wouldn't make any more purchases from her until she delivers. Because you are telling her indirectly that you'll keep on buying whether or not she delivers. H is a "psychological game". Good luck!

also, it sometimes helps to remember your SA is not the final arbiter of your bag offer. She may have the best intentions, but a high spender could come along and knock you out of the running at the last minute.

Thanks! Could it have harmed me that my SA moved from wall st to Madison right before the new opening ? I counted and I’ve spent 8k at each location… but does that 8k from wall st carry over with me…

Also, does anyone know… if I accept a Constance does that in any way harm me for a QB?

If she’s too pushy you should change SA especially if she changed stores.
We spend a lot to be treated correctly and buy what we like. SAs don’t own us and should be respectful and listen to us.
Mine also changed stores.
I am sticking with this SA but also shopping with Paris as I have been for many years. Otherwise I would shop the resale market.

One, no two things. If all you are looking for is a shawl, check out Bergdorf Goodman they have a nice selection and you can get points on your NM card. Also Madison Avenue is a few blocks away.
The other thing, I believe the Wall Street store is closed on Saturday.

I am pretty sure that Bergdorf doesn’t sell H shawls anymore unfortunately. I checked a while back and nada.

The Madison SM is only going to care about the 8k you spent at their store if/when your SA requests a QB for you, which is going to be too low for a QB I think, especially for a K25. It makes sense that your SA is suggesting a Constance for now. It may or may not delay your QB... it all depends on how much you spend overall, how your relationship is with your SA, and many other elusive H factors lol.

At the end of the day I don't think you should settle for a Constance if that's not a bag you want/love.

My SA recently covered meatpacking for a day and told me to visit. When I arrived, she offered me a k25. I had never shopped at meatpacking before then. So, I am not sure how that would work in terms of approval from SM. I think there is some leeway for SAs who are working at a different store temporarily

I want it, but want a mini Kelly or K25 more… but maybe if I get the Constance and slowly grow my collection, that’s the patience I should be looking for… as long as the Constance doesn’t wipe away the 8k

I'm not a fan of this SA although it is possible you "lost" a bag that was held for you to someone in the opening frenzy. I'd go in to, say, MP, wearing your coat (unless you just want to return it) and see if there is someone else you resonate with.

It's not at all worthless. I would ask straight out though if getting a Constance will slow your roll. You need an SA that can be at least a bit straight with you.
FWIW, it is possible to get a bag at Madison without a ton of spend. It's the K25 and mini K that are very likely the hardest, and that's what you're after. You could probably get a 32 tomorrow and possibly a 28.

Returning the jacket will give you store credit only, and unfortunately will not help with getting a QB, especially if a MK is what you're after. I personally would advise returning it IF you can find better use for the store credit on other non-bag items. If there isn't much non-QB items you like from H, it might be better to look into resellers vs continue to prespend on things you don't love.

Typically correct, unless the store credit came from the return of a quota bag. They don’t want you buying $12k of “bait” then returning it and using the credit on a quota bag. It’s usually a moot point though because if you are making returns, you aren’t going to be in a position to be offered a bag usually anyway.

I agree that I need an SA who’s honest and straight forward. My desire for small bags comes from my size (5’1, Very petite frame)… but I am wondering if there are certain colors that would be easier.

As in, the classic colors, do people who shop at Madison already “have them”? Since it’s such a high end crowd? They have their black or etoupe 25s… or maybe I’m wrong.. and I should go for more bright colors… which I don’t fully mind

I think certain colors like blues and pinks are more sought after than neutrals. If you want a green or yellow it might be easier than a neutral
