That is a whole bunch of questions. As to a wishlist, you’ve already stated what you want and he said he’d let you know if they get one in. Let that situation play out. In normal stock times, getting the first bag is the most difficult and after that happens, you can discuss what else you would like. As to his not writing anything down, they’re professional sales people and likely he has his own way of working with his clients.

Sales Supervisors are the same as SAs in that they require a managers approval for the selling of certain bags, but Supervisors are compensated slightly differently. They get paid on larger numbers that consist of their attainment against quota , a departments attainment, and the boutique’s as a whole.

Thank you for letting me know! I'd read a lot about creating a wishlist and wasn't sure if there was some sort of process where you actually sit down with your SA and write down the items you'd like to buy or if verbally mentioning these things qualify as your wishlist.

I shop at a NYC boutique and usually I circle back about a bag after several visits. Like maybe every third visit, I'll say something like "you know, I've really been thinking about that bag! Do you think I can wear it with my new purchase by *insert random holiday*?"

I never text about a bag or formally create a wishlist. I find that it's easier if you make your wishlist specific and not have too many things on it. I usually just pick one color and size and consistently mention that one selection so the SA remembers. Also, I have never had a SA say to me "hey your wishlist bag is here! come pick it up!" It usually just shows up by surprise when I stop by to buy something else.

Haha great way to circle back on the bag! I will say that my visits and purchases mentioned above were all within one week (they just happened to have a great selection of things I liked then, and I know things sell quickly so I wanted to grab them while I could!), so I don't plan on going back for another month or so to make sure there's adequate time in-between visits.

Do the SAs usually know to follow up with you if they get the non-bag items on your wishlist in-store? I know they're all very busy so was wondering if I should text every couple of weeks to check if they got anything in or if they alert their clients.

Depends on where you fall on the SA’s priority list. For VIPs, they will usually proactively reach out. I’ve also heard directly from our SA at Madison that the district manager has asked them to do less business via text/phone/email and to get the clients back into the boutique. Wife got her two Constance bags by walking in even though she had mentioned that she wanted one to our Greenwich SA. When she walked in and mentioned it to him he said “Oh, wait here. I’ll be right back” and brought out a new C24 for her. They’re so busy nowadays that I believe you’re only top of mind when face to face.

Ah, ok. In that case, perhaps I should visit the store sooner than I was planning on going back. How often is too often when it comes to seeing your SA? I don't want to seem too 'in their face' and would definitely be very respectful of their time when I visit and try to make a purchase if I see something I like.

That's wonderful that your wife was able to get her Constance bags from Madison as a walk-in! How long ago was this? Curious if they usually have B/K/C stock that they're able to offer clients.

Is the Madison store closed on sundays? I saw this in the H website for the store just wanted to make sure.
Yes Madison is closed on Sundays for most of the year. Except during December when they do usually open on Sundays to accommodate holiday shopping. Last year was unusual in that because stock was so low Madison elected not to open on Sundays in December.

Has anyone received any offers on quote bags recently? Been waiting for mine for awhile now…
I’m a new customer to Madison (my old SA left the company and that location was a vacation destination for me). I’m at 1.8:1 or so and just shared my wishlist w my SA. It’s only been three months though so I don’t think I’m due for a while unfortunately.

Has anyone received any updated info on when Madison Ave is relocating to the new building (other than this "Fall")? When I was in town this past summer, I met a lovely SA in the makeup department; we chatted for awhile and she said I should definitely come back and see the new space once they move.

I could definitely use another trip to Manhattan...and I want to take my new bag for a spin!

Historically, stores don’t seem to know a date until around 1-2 months ahead of time.

When I was there three weeks ago, my SA indicated that they were being told early September, but nothing more definitive than that.

I have been told multiple times there will be an event towards the end of September and *so far* they are sticking with that, so around then.
