Thank you Keekee!! I know you are very right about not allowing it to spoil the holiday. It would just be an added bonus. Besides I guess the search is part of the fun :)
My fingers are crossed but will enjoy either way!

I agree with Keekee, it's all about luck in H anywhere... so if you get offered a K or B in any store regardless, if you do like the color, just grab it and don't wait for the sake of hoping to get a better one elsewhere! Coz even in FSH it's not a guarantee that they will offer you! But with FSH I really do suggest multiple visits and talking to many different SAs. Even multiple visits on the same day could score you your coveted K :)

And yes, don't let it spoil your holiday... the hunt is fun, and taking the time to converse with the SAs is always enjoyable for me esp if we love H products coz we'd just be talking about H H H :D

Thank you Nefretirii! Yes I will difinitly buy if I like what I see and not pass in hopes of something better. I do think going with first gut instincts is best. A few years ago I was offered a bag in a color I thought I would like. When the SA opened the box my initial instinct was "yikes!" Even so I debated on buying the bag because it was a B and the size I wanted. Anyway I ended up passing even though it was so tough to do. A few months later a good friend of mine bought another style bag in the same color. She wears the bag often and although the color suits her well I do think I very much made the right decision for me :)
So I learned fist gut is the best way to know!! I guess you can apply this rule to many things in life :)

Today we visited the Hermes store in Istanbul that is three blocks away from the Park Hyatt. It is a beautiful store but had very limited inventory of bags. There were no CDC bracelets but lots of scarves. I bought 2 lovely scarves, a scarf ring, and a cashmere silk shawl.

Here are some pics of the H store in Istinye Park.
It's a very nice shopping area there with stores like Miu Miu, Etro, Chanel...

Has anyone purchased at the Istanbul Hermes in the Nishantasi area? Does the receipt look like a small ticket instead of the formal nice ones printed on paper with Hermes logo? I bought a bag from a reseller and the receipt looks different from the ones I got from Paris.

Prices are less than US prices when you include your state's sales tax when the exchange was 0.44 but is even better now at 0.32! Stock on the shelves was incredible the most I have seen jammed on the shelves which looked almost cluttered. One birkin, several toolboxes, plit plat, oxer plus the usual evelynes, garden parties, plume, victorias, ect. Stock was abundant for bags but not much else when I was there. Very attentive and friendly staff with a no pressure atmosphere who genuinely enjoy talking to you about Hermes! I only visited the store in Nishantasi but the SA said the stock at Istinye Park was even better but it was quite a trek.

Like with any experience YMMV!

Wow...the birkin was just sitting on the shelves? do you recall if it's a 30 or 35? Was there any more in the back? didn't know Istanbul to be such a good place for Hermes. Thank you.

WOW! When was this?

I was at the H boutique in Istanbul last year. We took an Uber there from our hotel in town and it was a long ride, probably 45 minutes. But once we arrived, the boutique was very well stocked with gracious SAs and SM. I spent a long time there because it took us so long to reach them, I wanted to savor the experience. The boutique is located in a suburb, I guess you'd call it, and it's in a huge enclosed very modern multi-level mall with many other top-tier brand boutiques.
