I just came from Istanbul but was not able to visit the Hermes stores in the city, my trip was geared towards sightseeing and the shops are quite a distance away. However, i went to H duty free at the airport, the prices seem to be the same as Europe. There was only a 2020 and Silky City on display

I'm going to Istanbul in a few weeks and will report back. I don't think there's been much experience in the in-city boutiques, at least from what I've seen in the forum.

Things I already know:
- Their selection for frequent clients is very reasonable, my friend's a VIP customer and has had no issues finding things she wanted
- The prices are same as Europe, although some days you might end up "lucky" with the conversion, since unfortunately it's a pretty politically-driven economy, and the fluctuations in currency happen alongside news of what the president has said that day...
- I've never gone to the Hermes without said friend, but in general luxury shopping in Istanbul is VERY MUCH accepting towards tourists, sort of like Paris. Of course natives shop there too, but nobody would blink an eye at a "walk-in" that's only in town for the day, and they make enough of their revenue from tourists that they'd be silly to hold regular items back, except for very special pieces. You'll see 75% tourist 25% Turks if that when you go to the luxury shopping area of IstinyePark mall... So "quota" for bags shouldn't be a problem, because the SAs there aren't looking to have you as a customer long-term unless you have a connection with Istanbul. Of course high-demand combos of Birkins/Kelly's I'm sure rarely get offered to walk-ins simply because as soon as they come they're picked up by local VIPs already, but that's the case even for local people with shopping histories.
- The only Istanbul store I've already been to is intriguingly quiet. It's close to my family's home so I walk by it every time I go back, and it's always emptier than the Dior Chanel etc. it's close to. At first I thought this might mean small store/lack of selection, but that wasn't my experience last time, and hopefully not this time either!

When I was last in Istanbul I visited all three locations and received great service at all. Everyone was very attentive but wasn't able t make many purchases as most of the items I was interested in were not available in my size for RTW, jewelry and shoes. I checked out all three stores on different days and visited the Nişantaşı location about three times while I was there as they mentioned they were receiving a delivery so I kept checking in to see if the coat / jacket I was interesed in would be restocked in a 34. That said, on my final day, I visited the Nişantaşı location once again and left without the RTW I desired but purchased a pair of boots and a hat from the mens section (none of the women's hats were in stock in my size.) I was working with two SAs (a man and a woman) as they were going back and forth to the stock room to check on items I was looking into. In the end, I was offered a K25 Retourne but refused (Retourne just isn't my style.) I was surprised though when they then asked for my B&K size and color prefences. They mentioned that they were expecting another delivery the following week and would love to accommodate me by matching me with a purse close to / actually on what was on my wish list. I was so pleased to hear this as a tourist! Such a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately I was leaving later that day... Still think about what might've popped up in that delivery and what I may have been able to snag. :flowers:

just want to update everyone on Hermes Istanbul.

According to the SA, this is the first Hermes in Turkey (other than Duty Free) and is recently opened for 9 months. The prices, according to her, are about 3-5% higher compared to Europe. But of course, upon review, I respectfully, DISAGREES!

The location is at the end/beginning of the Nishantasi area which is equivalent to the Madison Avenue. It is on the ground floor of a residential building which is quite unusual. Chanel is a few doors down (currently under renovation) and the closest hotel is Park Hyatt (which houses Emporio Armani and Gucci on its ground/basement floor).

VAT in Turkey is 8%, so you will get that back at the airport.

Typical price for 90cm carre is 645TL (~1.5:1USD, ~1.9:1Euro), and GM shawl is 1,750TL. And of course, I saw this beauty in the store, an amethyst croc (gator?) Medor clutch! STUNNING!

According to my calculation, this means the pricing with VAT off is equivalent to USD pricing with sales tax. Not expensive but not Europe cheap either!

the Kelly and birkin shown in the display case are samples only. i have been advised that the waitlist is 6 months. But of course, who knows what they will say if you buy the Medor clutch and drop a few thousands on RTW... you know the story...
Is it possible to get one as a walk in?

I received an offer as a walk-in at the Istinye location for a K25 Retourne. I passed on it, so they told me a delivery was arriving a few days later, and asked my preferences to see if we could find anything I'd like. Unfortunately I was leaving the following day, but I thought that was very sweet of them.

Wow! Thank you for your reply! That is amazing? Can I ask if this was recently or a long time ago?
This was in October 2019! I was shopping around for a few things but many of the items I wanted weren't available in my size. In the end, I bought boots, a top, a hat, but I think they felt bad that so many of the pieces (mostly RTW and jewelry) I was interested in weren't available, so they decided to offer me the bag as consolation. FWIW, I never asked or inquired about a Q bag while I was there! HTH

I just went yestersay to the Hermes at Istinye Park. There is now only a small pop up store for now with very limited items and a stock closet as small as my cleaning closet. Of course, I am sure they have many bags in another storage section of the mall for now; but the new H store wont be ready until December.

My experience was ok, nothing special. I bought one of the new rodeos but already had most of what was available. Plus the RTW was last season as the new collection was not arriving until next week possibly. Like so many H stores there is always an issue with "shipping" and "arrival times" so I just smiled and said "No problem."

I cannot believe I thought it would be easier to get a B here. Seemed way harder than Dubai. The sales guy had zero personality and barely spoke, let alone engaged in polite conversation.

Anyways; I just went to check it out and open a profile as we do spend time in Istanbul.

Would be curious to know anyone elses experience there?

Thanks for your reply. I believe the main store is the one in Nisantasi. I visit Istanbul next month and hope the other store would have better stock.

Thank YOU for the tip! Maybe I will try the one at Nisantasi. The Hermes SA said that the Istan Park Hermes is majority tourists and few Locals. I am sure once the new H shop is done in December it will be amazing. Its a super nice area for shopping.
Can anyone say if they managed to get a B or K at any location??

I received an offer and detailed in my post here: https://forum.purseblog.com/threads/hermes-istanbul.605641/post-34609179

Only mistake I made in my post that I can't edit was that it was actually at Nisantasi and not at Istinye, but I did visit all three locations at the time.
