This is just BEYOND GORGEOUS!
I was in Istanbul over new year. I never went to the Hermès store on Abdi Ipcek but I visited the airport store and it was really cheap and everything was tax free. A belt was 300 euros (standard H belt kit) and about 500 in my country and over 400 in Paris.
Because the prices were tax free already there was no need for VAT refund.
In Istinye Park all the stores offered a 10% in-store discount instead of using global refund. At least all this was offered to me.

was at Duty Free today. Most prices posted in Airport Duty Free are in Euros which would explain why Istanbul City Store is more expensive. The precipitous depreciation of Euro against major currencies in Dec 2009 may have made city prices (in Turkish Lira) significantly more expensive compared to Airport.

thought I'd try to revive this thread... I am heading to Portugal and Turkey for my 8 year anniversary and can't wait to stop by the stores. I always have such a wonderful time talking to the SAs and apart from experience in Washington DC, they have all been lovely.
Has anyone recently been to IST boutiques? If so can you tell me what your experience was like, how is the current inventory, how are the SAs? I can't wait to leave on vacation! TIA!
