Hermes is coming to Portland!

I live in the Bay Area & am expecting . Portland is where my husband and I are thinking of buying our first home. This 1000% sways me more in favor of moving there!!!

I work in fashion tech & am a younger millennial. Many of my friends have moved to Portland.

I think folks are under estimating the tech money continually migrating to Portland. I love The SF bay but when you realize you’re going to have to pay 1mill minimum for a first house that probably has wobbly floors… you start looking to buy elsewhere.

Any fashion lovers in Portland with tips on the best neighborhoods for shopping I’d love to chat

Sadly our boutique scene is very stereotypically "Portland" most of the good ones have closed recently. If you get a good SA at Mario's or Nordstrom they are great at being able to order in most things! I miss all the boutiques though, but luckily we have no sales tax on anything we order from e-com.

We could have a fly in TPF meet quarterly if the store can support long distance shoppers lol
(not sure how my SA would feel about that; it’s one thing to shop in Paris on vacation) but quite another to split US purchases.

Haven’t heard anything either. But it’s supposed to be inside the new hotel so if that’s up and running, I’m sure the boutique won’t be that far behind

If I recall, H store was to be in Ritz Carlton. Ritz Carlton is to open this July and currently taking reservations. Let's hope we hear about H opening soon!

Here is the most recent news I have seen about the building, it does not mention Hermes, but it looks like things are almost done with the hotel and residences:

Ritz-Carlton in downtown Portland getting finishing touches; opening date set soon

The Ritz-Carlton broke ground in 2020. It's now nearly complete, with hopes of being part of a downtown Portland comeback.

Has anyone been to downtown Portland lately? It is miserable and I wouldn't think that H would venture there unless there is an upscale suburban mall outside Portland.

I actually heard my SA talk about the possibility of the Portland store. It was very vague and I didn't push for more details. But I think its coming if the SA is talking about it? They also think if they do open in tax-free state, they will try to charge Tax somehow. Which I didn't understand how that works but oh well...
