I just checked with an SA at the Honolulu Airport store. She said that perfume and watches were “about 10% less expensive than the mainland prices and everything else is about the same as mainland” before the lack of taxes. Not really sure what that means but I tried. :)

New to this thread but read thru the last few pages- I will be traveling to the Singapore, Sydney and HK airports in the fall- in anticipation of what I may find- what are the good things to see in these airport H stores? The start and leave will be in Singapore.I live in NYC but never enter the stores here because they seem so unfriendly. I did go to Paris a few years ago but did not have the luck many others had and left with a clic clac and Evelyne. What are my chances of finding some small accessories at the airport? More specifically: a belt, oran sandals and possibly a CDC bracelet. My dream is to find ANY bag in the Etoupe color but it seems to be impossible. Which country will have the best pricing?

HK airport had a good selection of items when I went and SAs nice. I did not buy because nothing was great deal or something I couldnt find elsewhere. But none of these airports offer great value for US citizens - Europe airports and LHR are the best for that. I havent been in SYD H but everything in Australia seems very expensive! There is an Australia thread so maybe check that out.
For bags definitely ask because not all stocks are out.
Also check the NYC thread for SA recommendations, maybe you can find someone you like!

A friend of mine was offered a B35 in bleu encre at the Hermes at Seoul Incheon airport after purchasing a Lindy 30 and some scarves. I know that finding a B or K is almost unheard of at airport stores, but miracles do happen!
Oh what i though it is not possible to find k and b in airport store but i really need to check seoul airport it seems wonders happen there a lot especially with constance

HK airport usually has a good selection including bags on display. i recently got a mini Evelyn there. SG airport stores are a little smaller. I find T1 store has the best selection of the 3. I have not been to the one at Syd airport so cannot comment. Price-wise, all 3 are pretty similar

This is a stupid question, but I just want to ask whatever I buy from the airport shops don’t need to be taxed by US customs when I’m coming back? And the airport shops will sell me the product at the price of after VAT refund?

You will need to declare all purchases acquired while out of the country, even those purchased at duty free. They are only free of duty at the point of purchase.

i see. basically you dont really save money shopping at the airport, just saves the hassle of refund paperwork
It depends on the country. Generally you still end of saving even after declaration (eg you receive 15% back in vat but pay duty of 6%) still a savings and sometimes the duty is less ( could be higher if leather bag but still overall savings.
