Hi! I always turn to you guys for the best information so i'm here once again! Anyone visited Honolulu International Airport recently and have information about the prices in the airport versus on the mainland/in the other stores on the island. I will be traveling to Japan so i guess there wonät any problem with Tax and so on.:smile:

I have read somewhere that the prices i Hawaii is better on the mainland, is that correct?

Hawaii prices same as rest of usa

not sure if it's only JFK - the store in Terminal 1 is operated by IS DUTY FREE, the tag price is an additional 5% less than normal US pricing on top of not charging the 8.875% tax.

Hawaii's airport store is operated by DFS so pricing structure may be different (even though normally all operators should align pricing structure to prevent disparities).

I believe the prices were consistent with normal USA prices when I browsed the HI airport store last July. However, all thoughts left my memory when the SA said "but oh, I can't sell you anything" as she realized I had a domestic ticket, so I could be misremembering. Lol

would love to hear from others who had recently made purchases at US airports... I just got my bubblegum pink matte alligator Kelly double tour bracelet from JFK last week for $1054 with no tax, which would have been $1110 + NY tax at Madison.
