Hermes in Melbourne, AUS

TPF may earn a commission from merchant affiliate
links, including eBay, Amazon, and others

This is very very difficult. I can only guess as due to privacy reasons I was never given the exact amount. Typically only the Store Manager and Managing director know the exact amount for the store. The SA's are not told about individual special orders unless it is for our client. From what I have witnessed 5 a year but this is just an estimated guess.

5 A la carte bags a year at a Melbourne boutique. Wow :amazed:

For a multinational corporation like Hermes, I suspect the employees may need to sign non-disclosure agreement upon exit from the company. Honestly, I am quite surprised Hermès ex-employee would comment publicly about the company operation on public forum like TPF…it just feels a little weird.

@littlemissluxury thank you for answering everyone’s questions and contributing this thread. You have been extremely helpful sharing your knowledge. Ladies, although this is a thread for Hermes Melbourne, there are members from interstate reading and asking Qs in this thread and is up to you to use this information wisely and as LML has indicated, don’t be like purseonfleek, find an SA which is relatively newer or trainee and seek and a new SA if the current one has taken you for a ride. Be kind ☺️

Yes, everyone who works as an SA gets to offer quota bags. You're best starting off with a trainee as they have a small client list and are generally going by the book. More older SA's have a longer and loyal client list and will help them first or stretch them for more money if they know that they can.

If I was starting my H journey I would start with a trainee or someone close to it. Or if I was an established client with an extensive sales history with no bag after a $20,000 spend I would switch to a trainee or someone close to it.

Like I have previously said, $20,000 for a quota bag.
Would you say another 20k is necessary in between quota bags?

There are no SA's who are offical silk experts. Some may have better knowledge than others but the company doesn't have any offical silk experts. All SA's get the same amount of bags.

Usually another $20,000 is generally necessary but depending on the bag you want to may be a little lower or higher.

I am sorry to say this OOT and maybe this will be deleted by mods but I am genuinely confused on why do we have to question the validity of the nice people who have helpfully provide information about this store? This is an anonymous forum and information provided should in any case not be taken as a truth. I believe we all take the advices here as an additional data point to our research. The label of the profession might add more weight to the provided information but so are the info WE offer (claims of being avid shoppers in several continente, LT customers, claims of getting an SO without pre-spend etc).

Add into the mix the personalized experiences we all each have, there tends to be discrepancies. I am not sure if the ‚verifying' questions to the former SA is warranted.

IMHO, of course.

Actually, there is risk of misinformation if the information is not provided by legit sources. Think of all the fake news that we see on the internet nowadays, and how these fake news could impact the perceptions and decisions of different people…
A lot of us don’t believe in everything that is posted on the internet, however there are some people who maybe more influenced by the misinformation. Of course we can’t easily tell the actual reason for the spread of misinformation because we are not part of the crew who could potentially gain from the misinformation.

Afterall, the posts by long-time H shoppers here are just sharing more datapoints and the other side of the coin.

I came on here to provide information on how to get an H bag because I saw so many people come in wasting time and money when it's not particularly difficult once you know how.

I have provided valuable information

-Find an SA you like and want to work with long-term
-Don't buy if you don't like the SA - you may need to work with them for awhile
-Once you find an SA you like immediately request their details and contact them. This way you are on their client list.
-Spend over several categories
-Spend $20,000 for a quota bag
-Spend about $3,000 - $15,000 for a not quota bag

Hi Everyone, first time posting here. I’m ready to start my Hermes journey and have been on tpf reading up about everyone’s journey which has definitely been interesting. I’m also from Melbourne and was wondering if anyone is happy to share how much they had to spend to get their first offer? Does spending history expire? As in if I was to spend small amounts within 2 years to reach 1:1 would that be too long? As mentioned above, do I really need to spend 20k to get offered a quota bag? That’s a lot more than I thought

Hi @littlemissluxury! I've been reading your replies so far and they're very informative; thank you! My question is about the frequency of calls/texts/emails to my SA; some have recommended remaining in regular contact with the SA but I'm not in a position to come, let alone buy, in one or twice every week to the store. Would my SA still be warm towards me even if I come by maybe once or twice every month? I'm also concerned that because SA's are so terribly busy, I wouldn't want them bombarded with half-hearted inquiries from me. Thank you!
