As long as it's not too many returns it's fine. You can't be expected to keep an item that you don't want. But the SA does lose the sale from their monthly sales.
Thanks for your posts, they've been so helpful. I bought something that became an unwanted gift and have a credit note instead. I was told that there's no refund possible if no fault, so would a credit note still affect the SA? Surely they'd still keep the sale? I felt bad too because I had a really nice SA! It's not their fault if the gift recipient doesn't like the gift!

A credit note is a void sale. The SA loses the sale and the amount from their monthly sales.

I am honestly in shock that someone would spend $60,000 at Hermes and not get a bag. I worked at H for years and have never had a client spend more than $25,000 without a bag.EVER. After the bag we start again for another bag. The second and third bags shouldn't be harder except that you can't get anymore than 2 quota bags a year. And exotic skins are always harder.

wow I wish I could find an SA like you! Do trainees get to offer quota bags?

Yes, everyone who works as an SA gets to offer quota bags. You're best starting off with a trainee as they have a small client list and are generally going by the book. More older SA's have a longer and loyal client list and will help them first or stretch them for more money if they know that they can.

If I was starting my H journey I would start with a trainee or someone close to it. Or if I was an established client with an extensive sales history with no bag after a $20,000 spend I would switch to a trainee or someone close to it.

Like I have previously said, $20,000 for a quota bag.

At one of the Melbourne boutiques I trained the current girls wearing a trainee badge and everything on here is what I told them. I didn't train the trainee boys so I don't know what they were told regarding quota bags.

With the trainee's they might be a little slow because they have so much to learn but your patience will pay off.

Also it is a common misconception that older SA's get more quota bags. Every SA trainee to Management get the same amount of quota bags.
Thanks so much for all the advice. Do store managers take on clients? I got a quota bag by purchasing from the store manager a couple of times after my SA left. However after that and covid, the store manager didn’t seem interested in ‘keeping’ me as their client. I’ve connected with another SA now who I like and we get along well.

Store Managers don't take on clients. They only work on the floor when it's busy or short staffed. You're better off working with an SA.

A la cart bags.

We are never told how many bags or which bags are coming until they arrive. This is solely decided on in Paris. When the bags arrive they are divided into quota and non-quota bags.

The non-quota bags are split evenly amongst the SA's. Sometimes we may swap non-quota bags with other SA's.

The quota bags are different. The clients who have been put forth buy their SA's for quota bags must have reached the payment threshold and are then granted the bag or a bag similar to the one they wanted. The client with the highest spend gets the best bags and first preference.

Ah I see. Are the bags ‘on display’ literally just on display or are they reserved for certain customers? Also, do both Collins St and Chadstone receive the same/similar amount of quota bags or does Collins St get more because they’ve been around for longer?
Thanks!!
