Thank you. Are you allowed to divulge which categories SA get more commission? From my understanding it differs based on location. Of course if you are not comfortable to share it’s ok too. Really appreciate you coming to answer the existing questions!

Yes, fine jewellery is where we get extra commission. That is the category we preference but we understand that not everyone had that type of money and not everyone likes the fine jewellery that Hermes offers.

In this case pick a new SA at maybe a different store. Preferably someone new. Your SA is making you spend to get more commission. $20,000 with one SA is the the rule of thumb. $20,000 includes every category except bags.

You have no obligation to stay with an SA. You will not be punished for changing SA.

I strongly believe you are being taken advantage of by your SA. I have had clients who have gotten a bag then we started again with $20000 in all categories (except bags) for the next bag. Some of my former co-workers would do this to their long-standing clients to get more commission. We don't get commission on bags and any bags we sell are not added to our sales.

At $30,000 - $40,000 (rtw/jewellery only) I would have gotten you two quota bags or an exotic skin bag/clutch. I really believe you should change to a different SA.
I really wish you are still working with H I would come see you immediately haha! I have asked the other store and was told they are expecting 1:2.5-3 too ratio wise. =(

I find your situation very very strange. I've only ever seen this when SA's are taking advantage of their clients. But to be told by another SA at another store is very weird as we are not allowed to tell clients how much to spend. Head Office have forbidden us to talk spend with clients. We are instead suppose to say "build a profile" or something similar.

I can't say too much but I worked at one of the Melbourne boutiques for years and only just left and I have only ever seen this with SA's taking advantage of loyal clients. I feel bad because I think you are being taken advantage of. But it's hard for me to know without seeing your H profile.

sadly, it's not just me, my entire circle of friends have all heard the same thing from different people and different stores all over australia.

I’ve read on some forums some clients have spent 60k with no bags…

Is it harder to get second and third bags?

I am honestly in shock that someone would spend $60,000 at Hermes and not get a bag. I worked at H for years and have never had a client spend more than $25,000 without a bag.EVER. After the bag we start again for another bag. The second and third bags shouldn't be harder except that you can't get anymore than 2 quota bags a year. And exotic skins are always harder.
