Happy online shopping

I checked out and paid! Then they called and said they dont have it!

So sorry to hear about your experience! I ordered some lovely things off the EU site during our lock down, but through daily stalking, I noticed how glitchy the website is. Plus, after receiving a bunch of items flawlessly, I then had some minor items cancelled which was annoying enough to turn me off. Now, I restrain myself from daily checking bc I know how crushing it would be to be so excited about a big purchase only to have it cancelled. Now I am at the mercy of my local store. :)

Wish there was some way to see the entire H catalog of items....

I have to remind myself luxury brands have their strengths and technology isn’t one of them. :( It seems to be all about the leather and in-store experience.

Agree. But their margins are so massive, they can afford to be sloppy. And we are such suckers for the pain!

I’m married to a tech nerd who did a fair amount of time in Silicon Valley. One of the mega French luxe conglomerates reached out to him and (much much much to my chagrin) he did not even give it second glance. I am sure my constant moaning complaining about luxury websites (or lack there of, looking at you Goyard) didn’t help. Just saying it’s not the typical engineer’s dream to work on a fashion website (dear fabulous engineers- prove me wrong!).

As a software engineer myself, I really, really want to give the engineering team a talking to -- buuuttt, it could also not be just them. Occasionally we have non-tech people who accidentally upload things that are actually not available and it does take a while to roll back. Another thing is that management may not also put technology first -- I had a friend who worked at another designer -ahem- Pr*d* -ahem- a few years ago and he told me his manager knew nothing about technology and would practice krav **** on him (wtf?!). Engineering teams do tend to be under immense pressure to deliver not just the website but also internal systems, and most of the time, stakeholders are finicky and think engineering is just tippy-tapping on keyboards. With all that said, fashion sites do secretly have a bad rep in the engineering industry, so a lot of us are a bit hesitant about them haha

Thank you, my husband is the typical t-shirt/hoodie wearing computer engineer, so it is really nice to get the perspective from an engineer who does respect the fashion industry as well. :) People actually have the ability to upload unavailable items explains A LOT.

If I can give my 2 cents, I occasionally frequent/surf/buy from Gucci.com and it has always been flawless.

It could be one of the reasons, and I can go on and on about many other reasons— haha! The bottom line is, there definitely is a flaw in their pipeline, and I honestly wonder if they have proper user experience testing in place or if their testers are also customers (which is a bit difficult knowing how expensive Hermes is)

I need some info.
I have had my last two online orders cancelled and the email didn't say why.

Is there a purchase limit?
A limit for SLGs?
A limit on the number of orders in a time period?

I tried reading the terms and conditions online but they weren't very specific.

Can anyone help with info on this. I really want to get the items but don't want to risk the order being cancelled for a 3rd time.

Yes there is a purchase limit for Hermes.com on number of bags and certain SLGs at least. But I’m not sure what that number is ... and I don’t think it’s been officially posted by Hermes anywhere. However they indeed exist. Maybe call and ask CS to see if that’s the case?

ETA: might also vary between countries and the best I can remember is something like 2-3 bags per year but again not sure. I think calling your Hermes.com number is the best option. Would love to hear your update if you do that & find out the specifics!

I ordered two Herbags from the UK site in the last month and someone from the website team called to make sure I was aware that I had reached the two bags from the website limit for the current semester before they shipped them and that I wouldn't be able to purchase any more until July this year. So I think it's two bags every six months. Not sure about SLGs

How did you manage to get 2 Herbags?! :amazed: I can never get one on UK site, like gold dust!

Out of interest, what colour were your Herbags?

Usually I Have no troubles ordering from Hermes.com, but this time around has been a bit of a headache. I ordered something in beginning of May, and it finally got shipped out last Tuesday to be delivered yesterday. My delivery date now says pending, and it looks like its going back to NY. I’m in CA. Not really sure what happened...the package made it all the way out here to Sacramento and now its going to NY. Ugh , super annoying and disappointed. Has this happened to anyone?

Sorry to hear this - I completely understand the frustration. I also ordered something in early May and just received it yesterday and it seemed like such a long time! (I'm also in CA). It seems strange that it's in CA and now it's going back to NY. Have you tried calling the shipping company (Fedex/UPS/etc) directly?
