Hi Everyone! So how long should an order be “in preparation”? How long is acceptable? Of course it is also a pending charge on my credit card. It is suppose to ship to me. I so very much want to be sure the item is earmarked for me, but I am not in a hurry to actually get it. I would be devastated if the charge just “dropped off”.

Hermès only does an authorization on your card at first. They don’t charge you in earnest until they actually ship your item. Since the message on their site says orders could take 2-3 weeks to ship, that “pending” transaction will likely drop off of your card while you wait for your item to ship. This isn’t anything to worry about; just don’t forget about the transaction later. :biggrin:

During this special times my orders have been pending for 2 -3 month! But now that they are shipping again everything has come, though in a somewhat confuse order ( my first order came as the second last). Just keep cool!

I have two orders that are still showing up as "in preparation" - but they have actually been delivered to me. Weeks ago. So I feel like the status is really unreliable right now. I would give them a call and ask to be sure!

During the first week of May, 3 items I ordered reached me within 3 days of ordering. That was the first time I ever ordered off of Hermès so I was quite impressed!

I ordered some more things in second week of May and after watching the horse run and run and run while “processing” my card, I watched my items get cancelled. CS called and fixed everything, but then the items sat “in preparation“ for close to week. I did get them eventually, but in different packages on different days.

Your experience with your credit card sounds like what happened to me when I placed my order for a scarf on the 10th. They were unable to process my card, and the order was cancelled. I think the problem was on my credit card company’s end, because I got an email from them asking if the Hermès.com attempted purchase was me. I clicked “yes”, and the credit card company said I should be able to go ahead and try again. I did get my order in, but it is still “in preparation”. I don’t believe Hermès has gotten anywhere near to shipping it, because they haven’t charged my card officially, and the authorization dropped off. Oh well. Nothing to do but wait.
 
I went online to order a scarf- but looks like the color I wanted is sold out. Does the website usually restock scarves? Tia
Yes, it does. Just keep watching, mostly during normal business hours. I usually notice updates between 10am-2pm PST, but it can be different times in the day. Unless it's a super popular scarf, they usually show up more than once.Good Luck!!!!

Lucky you! I placed my first order on hermes.com on the 4th and my order status is still "In preparation"...the wait does get agonizing...
Have you gotten your order? My order is from May 7 and today it still says in preparation. it will be 3 weeks tomorrow. I did call about 10 days ago and they told me to give it 3 weeks. I will call tomorrow.

I received a shipping confirmation email last Saturday, but the tracking history is telling me that my order didn't get picked up by Fedex until like yesterday :annoyed:

So I waited for close to 3 weeks just for the warehouse to prepare the shipment...and I'll add another week for the actual shipping + delivery since I have a scheduled delivery for Jun 2...

from what i've read and gathered so far, the website isn't that great? lol

anyone know how long things stay on their website even if it's sold out? I've been refreshing like a madman every chance i get in hope to one day score a mini lindy on the website. I saw one yesterday, but of course it was gone already, but still showing on on their website. Today, I saw 2, but it was sold out and was on their website for 1+ hours still! I'm trying to gauge or see the time items get added on their website, but since it kind of lingers for hours even when it's clearly no available, I was wondering why and if this is just another one of their glitches?

At one point of constantly refreshing, the "add to cart" button came back up, but obviously meant nothing because the item couldn't even be added to the cart :(

scoring rare items on their website is honestly like winning the lottery...one can only hope lol
