Seriously, we have the Internet, it's French, she's an "influencer"...look it up!I just saw her post yesterday and was like "Huh? WTH is a "bo-lied???" She tends to mispronounce a lot of Hermes stuff. I live in the Dallas area and she's embarassing us.![]()
It's extra annoying cuz she has a great collection but I find that when she's explaining "insider" Hermes info she's often wrong and it makes it hard to watch her. Then I cackle at the fact that her husband's family got rich from selling fake designer bags in Dallas but they've rebranded themselves as hotel developers and winery owners. Okay, girl. Totally reminds me of when Niles found out Maris' family made their money from urinal cakes.Seriously, we have the Internet, it's French, she's an "influencer"...look it up!
Why do people ask what boutique has offered a particular bag? Do they really think, ‘oh Susie Smith just posted that she was offered a bag at boutique X so let me rush right over and see if they’ll offer me one’? Has not every single seasoned H shopper expressed the view on many threads that countless variables and intangibles can affect a bag offer, and that no two (or 2002) situations are alike?
And yet somehow the questions seem to pertain to either Push offer bags or the usual coveted offerings. Maybe some people think that if boutique has offered a Birkin Picnic there must be a few more lying around for the asking. I do understand that there could be an interest in whether a particular color or style has started appearing, or whether something particular is showing up regionally, but that doesn’t seem to be the case very often.different stores have different ways of buying that's why there's a podium, so if a bag is spotted in a particular store (say a Plume), it could mean that the store is open to buying Plumes and not just Birkins and Kellys and whatnot, and another Plume (maybe in a different size/color/leather) might be there so I guess that's why people ask.
I think people ask because it then gives them an excuse to go in and wail to their SA about not getting an offer when somebody else did tbh.different stores have different ways of buying that's why there's a podium, so if a bag is spotted in a particular store (say a Plume), it could mean that the store is open to buying Plumes and not just Birkins and Kellys and whatnot, and another Plume (maybe in a different size/color/leather) might be there so I guess that's why people ask.
Perfectly said! Unfortunately, common sense is not so common anymore.Ok, a bit of a rant here….

And, since I’m old school, why do people ask perfect strangers on the internet how much they paid for something? I was taught that that was rude, and puts the person being asked in an awkward position. I do understand that there there may be cultural differences at play here but those differences go both ways and are equally deserving of consideration. Further, the info is usually available in the thread dedicated to current H prices. And should the info not yet be posted a DM would be a way to ask without putting the person on the spot.
Just my view….![]()
I think salary and price transparency is more the norm lately.Ok, a bit of a rant here….

At least thats how that line of questioning feels to me, along with "did you have a prespend?"

All you can eat buffetBoth of you already know my thoughts about this. Think of the forum as a buffet. I don’t put everything on my plate; only things I like![]()
Tagging you here so as not to be OT in the other threadI think there was a thread on this back in. 2008. I don’t recall if I participated or not, but I remember it felt good to cut out a few Starbucks a day. Maybe it was only psychological, but whatever helps one justify the price of a bag is good by me (assuming one can afford it lol). Plenty of others liked to mix high and low, and I know that there is still a thread for this.
Unpopular opinion: I like the RTW and other offerings more than bags, shoes, scarves. I’d keep shopping, even if I received no bag offers. Recently I’ve preferred the men’s RTW line to the women’s, and the MtM SA was telling me that I could either possibly fit into men’s size 42 jackets (Madison does not normally order this size) but it’s possible. Or for a 25% up charge they could perhaps make something from a current men’s pattern in my size. The delay wouldn’t be as long as bespoke (as a toile would not have to be made). IMO this is a better option than some current women’s RTW for me (which I assume is also an unpopular opinion).
I saw a Kelly Belt in Anemone with PHW, I think its slowly getting reintroduced into more and more productsIs color Anemone discontinued?
