I hope this is fine to post here…tell me why wsj writes an article about luxury hand me downs are now worth billions of dollars?!

My dh sends me the article. I play stupid and say oh I can’t read it. He rattles off a few sentences and summarizes it for me.

I adore my dh and he just knows I have a lot of purses and things. He doesn’t know the names, the cost and details. Thanks wsj for ratting me out and using a picture of the Birkin. I’m sure he recognizes it now in my closet.🫢🫣

Bag lovers beware!!! 😛
This is how I justify my purchases to DH… for our future generations duh! 🤣

I have never sold or “rehomed” anything though and do wonder how much these resellers actual offer the sellers..

Omg. Out of the BLUE this morning my husband looked at my vintage C18 (which I’ve owned for 2.5 years) and says “when did you get that HERMES bag? Is that a Birkin?”

He has never in his life commented on any bag or clothes I wear other than to say if he thinks I look cute (and btw I wore this bag literally every day on our trip to Paris last year with zero comment from him).

What is going on?!?
It's The Awakening! 😂🙈

DH now knows how much H, Gucci, Chanel etc. cost. No more waltzing in with my shopping bags and saying "oh, these? I only spent [insert the amount a fraction of the actual cost]...."
LOL, we all need to make a pact, like Fight Club - what we spend at Hermes stays at Hermes. No telling spouses prices!!
Mine was blissfully clueless until he got the idea to get me a new bag for my birthday so unbeknownst to me he started investigating labels of bags I had in my closet and googling...now I can't wear anything without a comment about "the financial equivalent of a car" I have on my arm.

Some of my things stay in the cleaning closet because I know DH won't go in there!

LOL, I like the way your husband thinks!

Yes, that would be the one.
I have purchased the Baume de Sellerie and the Savon Glycériné separately, never in a kit though. From what I recall, they were fine but nothing to write home about.:shrugs: And I’m sure you already know that it is not advisable to use these products on any Hermès bag or SLG.

Note- It seems the item I linked only includes a carrying case; the soap, oil, and balm are not included.

Thanks for the heads up, I've only really had experience with Saphir. Do you know what they use for Spa treatment?

Ya I saw that, very interesting.

The saddle balm and soap can be used on Barenia, and there is a specific treatment (the passage au savon) that H artisans do on Barenia with this kit to develop patina. I saw it done (to another bag) in atelier while one of my Barenia bags was being repaired. I personally wouldn't try using this on my own for anything but saddles, but there are a few Barenia owners on this forum who regularly use the saddle balm on their bags.
I would not try this on finished leathers.

That's great to know, I really appreciate the advice.

I’m new here and can’t seem to start my own tread. I bought my very first Constance. But feels like there’s a quality issue. Is the part that is bulging in the front normal on a c18 epsom? Your advice will be greatly appreciated!

Hi all, can I get some advice from all of you please…

Should I get a 2022 or 2021 bearn compact? 2022 (w sticker on hardware) is 10% more ex than 2021, both brand new. Thanks!
If they’re the same leather, same colour, and same quality, I would opt for the cheaper one. No point in spending money unnecessarily (granted, this is Hermès we’re talking about:lol:).
