Hi everyone! I am interested in buying my first Birkin. I am contemplating purchasing this one: https://www.fashionphile.com/p/hermes-epsom-birkin-35-colvert-1296364.

Any advice or concerns? Ultimately, authenticity is my main worry. I am set on a Birkin 35 cm in Epsom leather, preferably in gold hardware. I am happy with most shades of blue for a change/pop of color.

Fashionphile.com states the handbag is 13.5 inches in length (base). However, 35 cm is equivalent to 13.77 inches. Do you think the employee entered the information wrong or are handmade Birkin handbags not always exact in measurement?

My home boutique is in Houston, TX. There are 5 to 10 items that I am interested in buying, but I don't know if playing the game is right for me. Thoughts? Thank you so much for your help!

Also, I apologize if I posted in the wrong thread.
I would reconsider Epsom leather. I find that it scratches very easily and is hard to repair. Especially on a larger birkin where it may bang around a bit when you carry it.

I think epsom is a great choice, especially in a 35, but I’m probably in the minority on this. I own 2 B30s in epsom — no regrets.

If you decide to purchase, I would get it authenticated by bababebi for peace of mind.

Good luck in your decision!

@rolandogm I would agree with @SpicyTuna13 Epsom is a wonderful leather for a large bag.
I tried two Birkin 40's one in Epsom and one in Togo i was amazed at how light the Epsom bag was by comparison.
I am not a fan of Epsom just because I don't like how it feels and looks but thats purely personal.
Also I know several people who have Epsom bags and have found them to be very durable.
And I've seen many Epsom bags on the pre-loved market several years old in excellent condition.

@allanrvj, cheers to you for your reminder (somewhere in the many threads) that it’s ok to decline to comment on a post that’s ’problematic’. It’s an obvious option of course, especially if you’re an adult (sometimes I struggle with this ) but it’s awfully helpful to have you riding along with me, living rent free in my head, nudging me. WWARJVD? (What would allanrjv do?) :P
